Two-minute read.

God’s anger, His righteous response to sin, lasts only a moment. His favor lasts a lifetime, a powerful contrast between temporary and lasting. The psalmists remind us that the Lord leans more toward mercy than punishment. We do suffer consequences for our actions, but God’s grace far outlasts them, forgiving us for our shortcomings.
We will have seasons of sorrow; weeping does last for a night. Scripture doesn’t deny the existence of pain, grief, and hardship. Long nights of crying out to the Lord during our hurt seem to last forever, but they do end. Wrestling with God helps us process through the pain and give it to Him, the Mighty Healer.
And then the morning comes.
Shifting our focus to hope, the sun does rise, bringing renewal, light, and fresh beginnings. Our circumstances may not change, but God remains the same: loyal, trustworthy, and present. We will walk through dark seasons, but our story doesn’t end there. What seems like an ending often marks the beginning of a new and better chapter. And we know, the best waits for us on the other side of heaven, our temporary troubles on earth no more.
God’s favor outlasts our pain. His joy will rise again like the morning sun. When we lean into the Savior, He will guide us through the dark night, back into the light. Cling to the Lord, knowing His joy will come.
Seeking divine joy requires a trusting relationship with Jesus. Knowing, believing, and obeying His promises and teachings will help us tap into the never-ending supply He offers. In Christ, we have all we need to weather any storm, doing it with His divine joy.
Reflection:
In the middle of your current struggle, how can you hold onto the truth that this season is temporary and trust God to lead you into a new morning?
Joy Thought:
Even when the night feels long, God’s favor remains over me—and His joy will rise again like the morning sun.
