If you don\u2019t speak the truth, you look like a fool. Think of every petty, jealous character on T.V.&nbsp; The more they try to bring other people down, the more they fall themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A second interpretation means you don\u2019t get in other people\u2019s business, or you will find yourself in trouble. Gladys Kravitz, the neighbor to Samantha on the pop culture sitcom \u201cBewitched\u201d comes to mind.\u00a0 She portrayed the epitome of a nosy neighbor who couldn\u2019t keep their nose out of everyone else\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Christ\u2019s followers, we shouldn\u2019t slander anyone. God commands us to use our words wisely, uplifting and encouraging others. Slandering does the opposite. And unless people ask for advice, we shouldn\u2019t give it to them. Don\u2019t use someone\u2019s prayer request as an opportunity to meddle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t have anything nice to say, don\u2019t say it.\u201d Mom\u2019s advice stands true long after God called her home.
