Solid and sturdy barricades protected the city from its enemies during that period.\u00a0 Upon hearing of the need for repair, Nehemiah prayed for God\u2019s guidance, got permission from the king who destroyed the walls to repair it, and did so with the help of his people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lacking self-control tears down the walls of protection in our lives.\u00a0 Gluttony, a sin of excess, happens when we don\u2019t limit the things in our lives.\u00a0 Setting boundaries on how much we eat, drink, spend, etc., helps us live within our means.\u00a0 But when we cross those boundaries, we destroy the walls of protection and leave ourselves open to the enemy attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like Nehemiah, pray and ask God where you have lost control.\u00a0 What walls need repairing, and how do you do it?\u00a0 Like He did Nehemiah&#8217;s, the Lord will answer your prayer and help you restore the boundaries required for healthy living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t let gluttony keep you from living life to the fullest.\u00a0 Live a controlled life with the help of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"100\" src=\"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Beach-Wear-Etsy-Banner-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Beach-Wear-Etsy-Banner-1.jpg 760w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Beach-Wear-Etsy-Banner-1-300x39.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lord, forgive us for not controlling our actions.\u00a0 Please give us an extra measure of self-control for today and always.\u00a0 Help us avoid the sin of gluttony by setting reasonable boundaries that allow us to live life to the fullest.\u00a0 IJNIP.
