Daily Verse:<\/strong> \u201cThe fear of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0is\u00a0a fountain of life, that one may\u00a0turn away from the snares of death.\u201d Prov. 14:27<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fountain of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fearing God means respecting His sovereignty. As a child, I knew angering my earthly father didn\u2019t bode well for me. When Dad caught me in a lie, he punished me. If I didn\u2019t do what Dad asked, negative consequences followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, life went much better for me when I told the truth, took responsibility for my actions, or followed Dad\u2019s instructions. I didn\u2019t get grounded; instead, I got rewarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reverential fear of God leads to obedience. Instead of angering God with our actions, pleasing Him leads to divine rewards. We will find security and teach our children how to live in God\u2019s blessings by living a life centered around Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The instructions God gives us in scripture help us tap into the fountain of life. Obeying the Lord protects us from ourselves and others. But when we ignore God\u2019s directions, we\u2019ll find ourselves in pits we can\u2019t escape unless we return to Jesus and follow Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Respect God and His authority in your life. Discover the fountain of life the Lord provides when we have a reverential fear of Him.<\/p>\n\n\n

Lord, forgive us for disrespecting Your authority in our lives. As we move through our days, help us always return to You. \u00a0Help us deny ourselves, pick up our cross, and obey You.\u00a0 Let us discover Your peace that surpasses all understanding as we tap into Your fountain of life.
