<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nDaily Reading:<\/strong> Joshua 5:1-7:15<\/strong><\/a>, Luke 15:1-32<\/strong><\/a>, Psalm 81:1-16<\/strong><\/a>, Proverbs 13:1<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Daily Verse:<\/strong> \u201cA wise son hears his father’s instruction, but\u00a0a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.\u201d Prov. 13:1<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Scoffers disrespect authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Everyone has authority in their life; God rules over all. But scoffers think they know better than anyone else, including God. As a result, mockers\u2019 hearts become hard, and they can\u2019t learn, unteachable. No matter the discipline, fools never learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other hand, wise people keep their hearts soft, recognizing they don\u2019t know everything. Remaining teachable, when Christ\u2019s followers receive discipline, they learn and grow from the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One prayer I often say, especially when I feel my heart hardening towards an individual or circumstance, helps me remain teachable. \u201cKeep my heart soft, Lord,\u201d allows me to stay in tune with God, recognize my sinfulness, and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNow I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.\u201d 1 Cor. 13:12<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Only God knows us fully, we know in part.\u00a0 Remaining teachable helps us become the creation God intended.\u00a0 Wisdom comes from above; discipline helps us learn the Lord\u2019s lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n Lord, forgive us for the times we think we know more than we do.\u00a0 Help us remain teachable, keeping our hearts soft and our minds receptive to the lessons You have for us.\u00a0 Let us fulfill our purpose on earth as we become more like Jesus.\u00a0 IJNIP.
