Is used in two ways in the NT, \u201cone who mediate\u201d between two parties with a view to producing peace, as in 1 Ti 2:5, though more than mere \u201cmediatorship\u201d is in view, for the salvation of men necessitated that the Mediator should Himself possess the nature and attributes of Him towards whom He acts, and should likewise participate in the nature of those for whom He acts (sin apart); only by being possessed both of deity and humanity could He comprehend the claims of the one and the needs of the other; further, the claims and the needs could be met only by One who Himself being proved sinless, would offer Himself an expiatory sacrifice on behalf of men; \u201cone who acts as a guarantee\u201d so as to secure something which otherwise would not be obtained.\u00a0 Thus, in Heb 9:15 Christ is the Surety of \u201cthe better covenant,\u201d \u201cthe new covenant,\u201d guaranteeing its terms for His people.\u201d[1]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Go between.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Full confession, I didn\u2019t begin to mature in my faith until my late twenties. Raised in the church, I knew I needed Christ; I didn\u2019t understand why. Connecting with God\u2019s purity requires a go-between; Jesus fits the bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When light enters a dark room, the darkness leaves, the two can\u2019t coexist together. Light expels darkness, or the absence of light equals darkness. Either way, you can\u2019t have them both in the same room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Jesus expels.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our sin lives in the darkness; Jesus brings it into the light, expelling the darkness from our lives. God and evil can\u2019t coexist; Jesus forgives the sin in our lives and ushers us into the Lord\u2019s presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mediators bring peace if they do their job well. Jesus excels at bringing peace into our hearts when we place our faith in Him. Christ shows us a new way to live that will help us discover a vibrant life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe thief comes only to steal and\u00a0kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.\u201d (John 10:10 ESV<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Embrace Jesus\u2019s mediation in your life, and let the light into the dark areas of your hearts.
