{"id":604,"date":"2019-03-12T04:00:46","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T09:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=604"},"modified":"2019-02-28T17:43:53","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T22:43:53","slug":"give-a-good-word","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2019\/03\/12\/give-a-good-word\/","title":{"rendered":"Give a Good Word"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Read Proverbs Chapter 12.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnxiety in a person\u2019s heart weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.\u201d Proverbs 12:25<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anxiety, in the original, means \u201capprehension because of approaching trouble.\u201d &nbsp;The primitive root of the word \u201cdown\u201d in this verse is \u201cto depress\u201d.  Anxiety depresses. &nbsp;Worrying about things to come depresses, but a good word cheers it up.  That\u2019s all it takes, is a good word. &nbsp;Let\u2019s break it down a bit.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprehension because of approaching trouble. &nbsp;Why is it we spend so much time worrying about the future? &nbsp;Because that\u2019s what you\u2019re doing when you\u2019re anxious.  And we all do it. &nbsp;Everyone one of us.  What we are anxious about may be different, but if we\u2019re completely honest, we\u2019re all anxious about something.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m anxious about people critiquing my writing. &nbsp;I\u2019m anxious about my health, about my husband\u2019s health. &nbsp;I\u2019m anxious about retirement.  I\u2019m anxious about growing older. &nbsp;All things that if I let my mind dwell on too long will depress me. &nbsp;All things that will rob my joy.  I also realize it\u2019s a blessing that these are the things I\u2019m anxious about. &nbsp;I realize there are a lot of people who have a lot more serious things to be anxious about.  I am not making light of anxiety, not by a long shot.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anxiety robs us of our joy, but a good word cheers it up.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we agree that everyone has some type of anxiety, can we agree that everyone needs a good word? &nbsp;Everyone you meet needs encouragement, no matter who they are.  You may not be able to see their anxiety. &nbsp;Their life may not reflect anxiety in anyway, but it is there.  It is part of the human condition.  We actually weren\u2019t meant to live without it. &nbsp;It is what causes us to search for God, for the One who has the answer to it.  Anxiety is what will make us get on our knees and seek God for answers. &nbsp;And in this case, His answer is a good word.
