You have not lied to man but to God.\u201d (Acts 5:4 ESV<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n TITHEMI (5087): <\/strong>\u201cTo place the widest application, lit. and fig.\u00a0 As a verb means \u201cto put\u201d is used of \u201cappointment\u201d to any form of service.\u201d[i]<\/a> Form of service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Contriving something means putting into motion some type of service, good or bad.\u00a0 For Ananias, he lied to God about money.\u00a0 After selling a piece of property, he held back some of the profit for himself instead of giving it to God.\u00a0 When Peter confronted Ananias with today\u2019s verse, he fell to the ground and died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n God knows everything and provides everything. We often hear about people cheating on their taxes, but Jesus made it very clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThey said, \u201cCaesar’s.\u201d Then he said to them, \u201cTherefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.\u201d (Matthew 22:21 ESV<\/strong><\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Don\u2019t cheat God.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If only Ananias had given God his due, how different things would have changed.\u00a0 For one thing, Ananias and his wife, who also lied, wouldn\u2019t have died.\u00a0 Cheating God hurts you more than it does God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.\u201d (1 Timothy 6:10 ESV<\/strong><\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n When you love money more than God, it will cause you problems.\u00a0 Anything you put before Jesus needs to go, including cash.\u00a0 Giving money away breaks the hold it has on you and puts God above the mighty dollar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nothing you have on earth will follow you into heaven. The fancy cars, big houses, and hefty bank accounts fade away. But eternal life with Jesus never ends. In Christ, you will find the peace found no other way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don\u2019t let money get you off track; God first, money second.\u00a0 When you place Jesus in His rightful place in your heart, He\u2019ll take care of the rest.\u00a0 When you have the hope of Jesus, you\u2019ll want for nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [i]<\/a> Strong, J., & Strong, J.
