\u201cThe next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, \u201cBehold,&nbsp;the <em>Lamb <\/em>of God, who&nbsp;takes away the sin&nbsp;of the world!\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+1%3A29+&amp;version=ESV\">John 1:29 ESV<\/a>)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AMNOS (286): <\/strong>\u201cA lamb, is used figuratively of Christ: Jn 1:29, 36, with the article, pointing Him out as the expected One, the One to be well known the personal fulfillment and embodiment of all that had been indicated I the OT, the One by whose sacrifice deliverance from divine judgment was to be obtained.\u201d<a id=\"_ednref1\" href=\"#_edn1\">[i]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Christ the Lamb.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Referring to someone as a sacrificial lamb means blaming an individual for something they didn\u2019t do to protect someone else.<a href=\"#_edn1\" id=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a>&nbsp; Jesus willingly took on the role for us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cHe was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a&nbsp;lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah%2053%3A7&amp;version=ESV\">Isaiah 53:7 ESV<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus endured agony to bring salvation to the world.&nbsp; Without uttering a word, He persevered through the pain, knowing we couldn\u2019t find life without His death.&nbsp; Yet we cringe at the thought of having to sacrifice anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Holy Sacrifice<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Writing on the Monday of Holy Week, the pastor\u2019s words from the Sunday message impact me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cWhat would you do if you knew in six days you were going to be murdered?\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mikecooke.life\/\">Mike Cooke<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus ate dinner at Lazarus&#8217; house, enjoying time with His friends.&nbsp; Martha busied herself serving everyone while Mary anointed Jesus with pure nard, preparing Jesus for His burial (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John%2012&amp;version=ESV\">John 12:1 ESV<\/a>). &nbsp;God\u2019s Son knew Dad\u2019s plan.&nbsp; Instead of worrying, Jesus enjoyed the moment, not fretting about His coming sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lamb of God lived life to the fullest, then sacrificed His so we could.&nbsp; Placing our faith in Jesus means letting go of our past, embracing a future full of hope.&nbsp; When we lay our burdens at the foot of the Cross, we receive Christ\u2019s mercy.&nbsp; We can trust the Savior for tomorrow, forgiven and free, living in the moment, enjoying today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a id=\"_edn1\" href=\"#_ednref1\">[i]<\/a> Strong, J., &amp;
