For&nbsp;you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+11%3A46+&amp;version=ESV\">Luke 11:46 ESV<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOMIKOS (3544): <\/strong>\u201cAn adjective, \u2018learned in the law.\u2019 They devoted themselves mainly, but by no means exclusively, to the study of the law.\u00a0 They became jurists rather than theologians and received names which of themselves called attention to that fact.\u201d<a id=\"_ednref1\" href=\"#_edn1\">[I]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Became jurists.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lawyers, during Biblical times, dedicated their lives to learning the Levitical law.&nbsp; At first, the scribes studied the scriptures, but then they became primarily devoted to understanding the law, becoming \u201cjurists rather than theologians,\u201d as described above.&nbsp; For whatever reason, the lawyers gravitated towards the law more than any other part of scripture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some personalities prefer a clear-cut path to take.&nbsp; With 613 Levitical laws in the Old Testament, they covered much ground.&nbsp; No one on earth can keep the Ten Commandments.&nbsp; Only Jesus lived without sin.&nbsp; Which means not becoming a jurist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Become a theologian.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I think of \u2018lawyers\u2019 in church, memories of broken relationships, deep hurts, and open wounds come to mind.&nbsp; People who cared more about judging others than loving them.&nbsp; If your theology centers around Jesus, you love first and foremost.&nbsp; Jesus didn\u2019t call us to judge; He called us to love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cAnd one of the scribes\u2026asked him, \u201cWhich commandment is the most important of all?\u201d\u00a0Jesus answered\u2026And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.\u2019\u00a0The second is this:\u00a0\u2018You shall love your neighbor as yourself.\u2019 There is no other commandment\u00a0greater than these.\u201d\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+12%3A28-31&amp;version=ESV\">Mark 12:28-31 ESV<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t become a lawyer, enforcing the Levitical law.&nbsp; Become a theologian, follow Christ, fulfill the Greatest Commandment, love God and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a id=\"_edn1\" href=\"#_ednref1\">[i]<\/a> Strong, J., &amp; Strong, J.
