{"id":5561,"date":"2022-03-21T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-21T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=5561"},"modified":"2022-03-04T11:27:46","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T16:27:46","slug":"spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2022\/03\/21\/spirit\/","title":{"rendered":"SPIRIT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>2 minute read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Spirit-974x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5562\" width=\"331\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Spirit-974x1024.jpg 974w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Spirit-285x300.jpg 285w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Spirit-768x808.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Spirit-1461x1536.jpg 1461w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Spirit-1948x2048.jpg 1948w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 331px) 100vw, 331px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Daily Reading:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Numbers+32%3A1-33%3A39&amp;version=ESV\">Numbers 32:1-33:39 ESV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+4%3A31-5%3A1&amp;version=ESV\">Luke 4:31-5:11 ESV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+64%3A1-10+&amp;version=ESV\">Psalm 64:1-10 ESV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs+11%3A22&amp;version=ESV\">Proverbs 11:22 ESV<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Daily Verse:<\/strong> \u201cAnd&nbsp;in the synagogue there was a man who had the <em>spirit<\/em> of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+4%3A33&amp;version=ESV\">Luke 4:33 ESV<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PNEUMA (4151): <\/strong>\u201cA current of air, i.e., breath (blast) or a breeze.&nbsp; I.e., (human) the rational soul, or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ\u2019s spirit, the Holy Spirit.&nbsp; Syn: This word is rarely used of wind, but when so used it is known for its strength, vigor and force.\u201d<a id=\"_ednref1\" href=\"#_edn1\">[I]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Spirits exist.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Understanding the spiritual side to life means accepting the unknown.&nbsp; The battle between light and dark takes place outside our field of vision, making it hard to comprehend.&nbsp; In the pages of scripture, Jesus gives us a glimpse of the fight.&nbsp; The man in today\u2019s verse had an unclean spirit within him who confronted Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cBut Jesus&nbsp;rebuked him, saying,&nbsp;\u201cBe silent and come out of him!\u201d&nbsp;And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+4%3A35&amp;version=ESV\">Luke 4:35 ESV<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Jesus prevails.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus didn\u2019t let the unclean spirit bother Him; instead, He shut the demon up.&nbsp; Accepting Jesus into our lives means the Holy Spirit becomes our protector, living within us, giving us its power.&nbsp; Nothing can take His place.&nbsp; Grounding our identity in Christ means accessing His power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far in my journey, I have never encountered a demon-possessed man like the one in today\u2019s verse.&nbsp; But I have dealt with wayward thoughts, lies I\u2019ve believed which stop me from living life to the fullest in Christ.&nbsp; Jesus has an answer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe destroy arguments and&nbsp;every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to&nbsp;obey Christ,\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Cor.+10%3A5&amp;version=ESV\">2 Cor. 10:5 ESV<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tap into God\u2019s Spirit.\u00a0 Capture thoughts, silence demons and expose lies with Jesus\u2019s power.\u00a0 Live life to the fullest with Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"_edn1\" href=\"#_ednref1\">[i]<\/a> Strong, J., &amp; Strong, J.
