Daily Verse:<\/strong> \u201cBut shall we say, \u2018From man\u2019?\u201d\u2014they were afraid of the people<\/em>, for they all held that John really was a prophet.\u201d (Mark 11:32 ESV<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LAOS (2992): <\/strong>\u201cA people (in general; thus, differing from 1218, which denotes one\u2019s own populace). Laos is used of \u201cthe people at large,\u201d especially of people assembled.\u201d[I]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opinions matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaders know large groups of people aligned in thought make a difference.  Fear of the crowd\u2019s reaction made the religious leaders think twice before answering Jesus\u2019 question about John\u2019s baptism.  If they lost the people\u2019s support, the chief priests, scribes, and elders would lose their rule.  Ultimately, they didn\u2019t want to lose the power they now had if they answered Jesus incorrectly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crowd witnessing the conversation held power over the religious leaders but didn\u2019t realize it.  Every person\u2019s opinion mattered, all seeking truth with the information they had.  The reason God\u2019s word still stands amid chaos; because truth stands the test of time; lies don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Share truth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groups form opinions because people share their thoughts.  Conversations between individuals seek the truth together, finding what happens and what doesn\u2019t.  The process for the facts to reveal themselves does take time.  But if we continue to share the truth of the gospel, eventually, everyone will hear it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus’ teachings upset the religious leaders because they negated their teachings.  Acceptance into heaven doesn\u2019t come from the law; Jesus opens that door.  Today\u2019s world needs more Jesus, the one in the gospels, who loved all and died for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Become a people of love today.  Whether by word or action, share the truth of God\u2019s affection with all you meet.  God loves everyone, even the people we deem unlovable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
