{"id":5463,"date":"2022-03-02T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=5463"},"modified":"2022-02-19T09:17:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-19T14:17:04","slug":"ransom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2022\/03\/02\/ransom\/","title":{"rendered":"RANSOM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 minute read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ransom-1024x892.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5464\" width=\"327\" height=\"284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ransom-1024x892.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ransom-300x261.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ransom-768x669.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ransom-1536x1338.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ransom-2048x1783.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"daily-reading-leviticus-25-47-27-13-esv-mark-10-32-52-esv-psalm-45-1-17-esv-proverbs-10-22-esv\"><strong>Daily Reading:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Leviticus+25%3A47-27%3A13&amp;version=ESV\">Leviticus 25:47-27:13 ESV,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+10%3A32-52&amp;version=ESV\">Mark 10:32-52 ESV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+45%3A1-17&amp;version=ESV\">Psalm 45:1-17 ESV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs+10%3A22&amp;version=ESV\">Proverbs 10:22 ESV<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"daily-verse-for-even-the-son-of-man-came-not-to-be-served-but-to-serve-and-to-give-his-life-as-a-ransom-for-many-mark-10-45-esv\"><strong>Daily Verse:<\/strong> \u201cFor even the Son of Man came not to be served but&nbsp;to serve, and&nbsp;to give his life as a <em>ransom<\/em> for&nbsp;many.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+10%3A45&amp;version=ESV\">Mark 10:45 ESV<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LUTRON (3083): <\/strong>\u201cSomething to loosen with, i.e., a redemption price.&nbsp; In the NT, it occurs in MT. 20:26 and Mk 10:45, where it is used of Christ\u2019s gift of Himself as \u201ca ransom for many.\u2019 Christ paid the ransom to God, to satisfy violated holiness and righteousness.&nbsp; He did not pay the ransom to Satan or to some impersonal power such as death, or evil.&nbsp; That Christ gave up His life in expiatory sacrifice under God\u2019s judgment upon sin and thus provided a \u201cransom\u201d whereby those who receive Him on this ground obtain deliverance from the penalty due to sin, is what Scripture teaches.&nbsp; Christ died for all men, yet it is actually for those only who accept God\u2019s conditions and who are described in the Gospel statements as \u201cthe many.\u201d<a href=\"#_edn1\" id=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ransom for many.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus\u2019 lack of selfishness puts us all to shame.&nbsp; Throughout His ministry on earth, Jesus served all He met.&nbsp; In His final moments on earth, Jesus ransomed himself for many, paying the price we neither want to pay nor can.&nbsp; However, if we don\u2019t accept the gift Jesus offers, we can\u2019t receive the prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rejecting Jesus means missing the ransom.&nbsp; When people choose to follow a different path than God\u2019s, they don\u2019t receive the gift.&nbsp; Not only does Jesus\u2019 actions on the cross give us eternal life, but He also gives us peace that surpasses all understanding and love that never ends now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Accept the ransom.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u201cLay it down at the foot of the cross and leave it there.\u201d I texted a friend struggling with anger towards God over a life situation.&nbsp; Focusing on the offense only ignited the flame further inside of her.&nbsp; If we don\u2019t find ways to release the negative emotions, they will consume us.&nbsp; Jesus offers a solution; give it to Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cI have said these things to you, that&nbsp;in me you may have peace.&nbsp;In the world you will have&nbsp;tribulation. But&nbsp;take heart;&nbsp;I have overcome the world.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+16%3A33&amp;version=ESV\">John 16:33 ESV<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus ransomed Himself not only so we could enjoy eternal life but also whole life now.&nbsp; Placing your trust in the Savior means gaining access to His peace.&nbsp; Accept the ransom Jesus offers.&nbsp; Embrace Him completely, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you from within your heart.&nbsp; Become transformed as you live fully in Jesus\u2019s gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a id=\"_edn1\" href=\"#_ednref1\">[i]<\/a> Strong, J., &amp; Strong, J.
