Daily Verse:<\/strong> \u201cAnd after six days Jesus took with him\u00a0Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain<\/em> by themselves. And he was\u00a0transfigured before them\u201d (Mark 9:2 ESV<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life involves mountains.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often, when faced with immovable mountains, we complain.  But, we can\u2019t experience mountaintop moments without first climbing the hill.  Jesus leads the disciples up the mountain to witness the transfiguration; Jesus meets with Elijah and Moses in brilliant light.  Peter, James, and John had a mountaintop moment like no other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God leads us up mountains.  Climbing changes our perspective, giving us an aerial view of the valley.  Rising out of the pits of life requires effort on our part.  We must put one foot in front of the other to climb.  Eventually, we\u2019ll reach the top of our mountain, and when we do, we\u2019ll experience our mountain top moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treasure the moment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking back down the mountain with Jesus, the disciples couldn\u2019t stop talking and asking questions. When they reach the bottom, they find the crowd arguing because the disciples couldn\u2019t rid a boy of his demon, the moment of transfiguration over as Jesus immediately goes back to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mountaintop moments don\u2019t last long.  We must relish the experience when it happens.  Life waits at the bottom of the mountain.  Family pressures, work relationships, pushing and pulling us in different directions.  The peace we find at the top of the hill attacked quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treasure the mountaintop moments of life.  Brand the memories into your spirit.  When you find yourself in the valley, let the memories inspire you to do the climb once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
