“You keep track of all my sorrows.<\/span><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/span>You have collected all my tears in your bottle.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/span>You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nYou could easily say this has been one of those weeks.\u00a0 Not only in my life, but in the lives of friends I love very dearly.\u00a0 In family members lives who are struggling through some hard stuff right now.\u00a0 Tomorrow is Cody’s birthday.\u00a0 I always miss him more this time of year.
\nBut I just had the coolest thing happen.\u00a0 I know you’re going to think I’m crazy.\u00a0 I’ve shed a lot of tears in my lifetime.\u00a0 Most of us have.\u00a0 I rely on Psalm 56:8 every time I shed one.\u00a0 I think of God capturing my tears.\u00a0 Recording my hurts.\u00a0 It always makes me feel better.
\nI just sat down to start session four of Lisa Harper’s study on Job.\u00a0 I love listening to Lisa Harper.\u00a0 I like the sound of her voice.\u00a0 I love the slight grittiness to it.\u00a0 I love the southern accent.\u00a0 Her voice soothes me when I hear it.
\nI started the session.\u00a0 There is this music at the beginning.\u00a0 Every time I hear it start, my heart quickens.\u00a0 I know I’m about to learn something good.\u00a0 I get so excited.
\nToday, as my heart quickened, tears started to roll silently down my cheek.\u00a0 It’s the first time I’ve ever started a study in tears.\u00a0 It’s the first time I think I have experienced joy and sorrow simultaneously.
\nI thought to myself, “If I’m crying when I start this, it’s going to be even better than I think.”
\nLife is so hard.\u00a0 But that doesn’t mean it’s bad.\u00a0 It doesn’t mean you’re alone.\u00a0 It doesn’t mean God doesn’t care.\u00a0 It simply means it’s hard.
\nI love this quote from Bob Goff’s book, “Everybody Always”:
\n“We can bring all the game we’ve got, but only Jesus has the power to call out of us the kind of courage it takes to live the life He talked about.”<\/em>
\nThat is truth in its best sense.\u00a0 Life is hard but it’s worth it.
\nOn to session four!
