I have overcome\u00a0the world.\u201d John 16:33<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nLord I know I need to write a blog on this, but instead I only have time for a note.<br \/>\nHad coffee with my mentor Friday. We had a long conversation on how much suffering there is in this world. I had three very sad things to share with her this week. We talked a lot about how following Christ isn\u2019t easy. In fact all the pain and suffering we suffer He told us we would suffer (John 16:33). So why are we surprised when it actually happens?<br \/>\nI always am. I\u2019m always surprised\u00a0<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">when something terrible happens.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\nFollowing Christ ain\u2019t easy. But don\u2019t forget the rest of the story. \u201c&#8230;but take heart! I have overcome the world.\u201d John 16:33b<br \/>\nThank God!<br \/>\nAnd then I started studying Job. Turns out that pain is a promotion. We need to understand pain so we can comfort others well.
