{"id":433,"date":"2018-09-08T22:30:19","date_gmt":"2018-09-08T22:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=433"},"modified":"2019-12-10T08:43:56","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T13:43:56","slug":"truth-is-always-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2018\/09\/08\/truth-is-always-better\/","title":{"rendered":"Truth is Always Better"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>&#8220;Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.&#8221; John 8:32<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nI have found a new thing I love about truth, I don&#8217;t have to remember it.\u00a0 Seriously, I have realized as I get older I&#8217;m forgetting more and more.\u00a0 I talk to so many people in a day.\u00a0 I answer so many emails and texts.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t possibly remember them all.\u00a0 As long as I&#8217;ve told the truth, I know the facts will always be the same.<br \/>\nHave you ever told a &#8220;little white lie?&#8221;\u00a0 Have you learned what a pain it can be to keep up with it?\u00a0 For instance you have to remember the lie.\u00a0 You have to remember that you told them you couldn&#8217;t go to their kids recital because you had a dentist appointment.\u00a0 You have to remember you said we can&#8217;t make dinner because so and so is working late.<br \/>\nLies are hard to keep up with, the truth isn&#8217;t.<br \/>\nWith truth you don&#8217;t have to remember, you don&#8217;t have to keep up with it.\u00a0 The truth always stands true.\u00a0 Just like the truth of Jesus, over 2000 years later,\u00a0 it stills stands strong.\u00a0 Tested time and time again, always true.<br \/>\nThe beauty of the truth is if you forget part of the details you can always look them up.\u00a0 You look up the dentist appointment on the calendar.\u00a0 You won&#8217;t have to remember what day you worked late because you actually did.\u00a0 We always remember what we do more than what we say.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m becoming way more comfortable with saying, &#8220;You&#8217;re going to have to help me remember.&#8221;\u00a0 Or &#8220;Where did we leave off last time we talked?&#8221;\u00a0 I confess to even having to say, &#8220;I confess, I don&#8217;t remember the conversation.&#8221;\u00a0 It&#8217;s so hard, because I don&#8217;t want anyone to feel like I don&#8217;t care.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t want anyone to feel like I don&#8217;t love them.\u00a0 When I can&#8217;t remember our conversation, I don&#8217;t want them to interpret it as I don&#8217;t care.<br \/>\nOn the other hand, I also don&#8217;t want them to let me off the hook too easily.\u00a0 I know I&#8217;m not God, but I need to work at doing better.\u00a0 We can always do better, that&#8217;s the beauty of life.\u00a0 I always want to be doing better.<br \/>\nSometimes it&#8217;s hard telling the truth.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard telling someone you don&#8217;t remember what you last talked about.\u00a0 It is hard telling someone you&#8217;re frustrated with them or you&#8217;re upset with them.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to tell someone you just don&#8217;t want to go.\u00a0 None of us want to hurt anyone&#8217;s feelings.<br \/>\nHere&#8217;s the truth, being lied too hurts more every time over being told the truth in love.<br \/>\nThe key to telling the truth is telling it to the best of your ability in love.\u00a0 That is the part we can always get better.\u00a0 We can always love better than we did yesterday.\u00a0 I know I am constantly being reminded I can love better than I did a minute ago.\u00a0 The only way I can love better is to keep God in the forefront.\u00a0 He is the only way I can love well.\u00a0 He is the only way I can tell the truth in love.\u00a0 He is the only one who can help me continue to do better each day, hour and minute.<br \/>\nJesus came to tell the truth:<br \/>\n<em><strong><span id=\"en-NIV-26823\" class=\"text John-18-37\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cYou are a king, then!\u201d said Pilate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text John-18-37\">Jesus answered,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cYou say that I am a king.
