Riches don\u2019t measure wealth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s scripture is the ending sentence in an interesting parable.  A rich man spends all his time making money.  Finally, he decides he has enough and can stop working (Luke 12:16-19 NIV<\/a>). God gave him this message: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut God said to him, \u2018You fool! I will demand your life from you tonight! Now who will get what you\u2019ve accumulated?\u2019 (<\/em>Luke 12:20 GW<\/em><\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter how much the rich man had, it was never enough.\u00a0 He felt the need for more.\u00a0 Material things won\u2019t fill the void only God can fill.\u00a0 God created us for a relationship with Him and others.\u00a0 Our first priority in life is loving God, our second loving others.\u00a0 Anything that comes before those two things is stealing life from us.\u00a0 In today\u2019s parable, the man\u2019s wealth got in the way of his relationship with God, which means his relationship with others as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redefine your assets.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typically assets mean cash, real estate, and equipment.  Running a business means managing whatever possessions you have.  People aren\u2019t possessions, but they are resources.  Our most significant assets are the people God places in our lives.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Managing the people in your life means loving each of them like Jesus.  We can only do that with God\u2019s help.  Asking God to see people through His eyes will change your perspective.  You\u2019ll find wealth in the relationships you create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money is something you can always make.  Today in America, businesses are desperate for workers.  People are not replaceable.  When you lose someone, you don\u2019t get them back, not until you meet in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t make the same mistake the rich man did; make God and people your priority.  Don\u2019t waste time on riches that won\u2019t last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
