\nSoren Kierkegaard was a Danish philosopher that lived in the 1800’s.\u00a0 \u00a0 Much of his work deals with the issues of how one lives as a single individual.\u00a0 I always find his quotes fascinating.\u00a0 Last week I heard this one: “Now with God’s help, I shall become myself. ”\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>
\nThis quote is worth taking time to stop and ponder.\u00a0 I think it has quickly become one of my favorite quotes.\u00a0 I can do nothing without Jesus.\u00a0 Any time I try to do it on my own I falter.\u00a0 The minute I ask Jesus into the situation, I succeed.
\nI want to become who God created me to be.\u00a0 I’m learning I have a special purpose, even though it may not be clear to me.\u00a0 Often times, the only actual thing I know is the next immediate step I am to take.\u00a0 I love watching as those steps unfold into God’s plan.\u00a0 I love when I look back over my path I see God’s handiwork.\u00a0 I love that in every new day I am changing, I am growing, I am becoming myself.
\nI’ve talked often about how I have started praying over my calendar.\u00a0 Just this week, I was reminded of how God is the one who truly makes my appointments.\u00a0 He takes things off which need to come off.\u00a0 He adds things in which need to be added.\u00a0 This week he freed up time for me to spend with Him.\u00a0 Something I desperately needed beyond my regular daily routine.\u00a0 Time to sit as His feet and lift up to Him my struggles.\u00a0 Time to write them all down, to organize my thoughts.\u00a0 To hear what He wanted me to do.
\nHe arranged an impromptu time with friends who spoke words of life into me.\u00a0 I had prayed earlier in the day for clear direction.\u00a0 As I sat with them talking, unbeknownst to them, they answered that prayer.\u00a0 They helped me find the direction I was so desperately seeking.\u00a0 God used them to help me become myself.
\nI started my journey with God as a child.\u00a0 I accepted him into my life when I was 12 years old.\u00a0 The faith of a child.\u00a0 I didn’t really understand what it all meant, but I knew I needed Jesus.\u00a0 As I grew and life started to bombard me, I lost my child like faith.\u00a0 I veered from the straight and narrow.\u00a0 It took me years to find my way back.\u00a0 However, since I returned to Jesus I have become a completely different person.
\nI have learned grace.\u00a0 I have learned truth.\u00a0 I have delved into my past to confront issues which needed to be addressed.\u00a0 I’ve become more loving.\u00a0 I’ve developed a life motto, “Love God, Love others”.\u00a0 I have a life verse(s) now:
\n\u00a0“<\/sup>Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>The second is this: \u2018Love your neighbor as yourself.\u2019\u00a0There is no commandment greater than these.\u201d\u00a0 Mark 12:30-31<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nIt has given me purpose.\u00a0 I have found direction.\u00a0 I have become myself.\u00a0 I am still becoming myself.\u00a0 Everyday as I walk with Jesus, He helps me become me.
