None of these are easy to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes following Jesus might seem too challenging.&nbsp; Even the disciples faltered the night of Jesus\u2019s arrest; they all deserted Him.&nbsp; When the Sanhedrin arrested Jesus, His followers felt their lives were in danger, so they left.&nbsp; Peter denied Jesus three times that night because he feared for his life.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all battle the flesh, even those who knew Jesus best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace is Jesus\u2019s calling card.&nbsp; When Peter denied Jesus, God forgave him.&nbsp; Jesus\u2019s actions on the cross paid the price for our sinful nature.&nbsp; Each day, as we fight the battle of the flesh, we try again.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life is a journey.&nbsp; God knows we struggle with saying no to those things that cause us harm: unrepentance, unforgiveness, pride, selfishness.&nbsp; The list is endless.&nbsp; God wants us to say no so we can experience the freedom found in following Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Respond with intention.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saying \u201cNo\u201d becomes easier if you know why you deny yourself.&nbsp; When you want to lose weight, you say no to food because that\u2019s the path to fewer calories.&nbsp; Saving money means saying no to every whim.&nbsp; Knowing the why helps you respond with the right intention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus\u2019s intention is for us to follow Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission Jesus gives us takes a lifetime to fulfill: loving God, loving people (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+12%3A30-31&amp;version=GW\">Mark 12:30-31 GW<\/a>).&nbsp; To complete our task, we must learn to say no to our desires.&nbsp; Others first living doesn\u2019t come naturally, but we can do it, one \u201cno\u201d at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus went first.\u00a0 He picked up His cross for you.\u00a0 Today, pick up your cross for Jesus.\u00a0 Say no to the flesh, and yes to His Spirit within you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/bookcover.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4819\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/bookcover.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/bookcover-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/bookcover-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Three-Word-Prayers-Everyday-Living-ebook\/dp\/B09JT3B6CW\/ref=sr_1_2?crid=18UKNZFIIDIEA&amp;dchild=1&amp;keywords=three+word+prayers&amp;qid=1635775169&amp;sprefix=three+word+prayers%2Caps%2C69&amp;sr=8-2\">Check out my new release on Amazon<\/a>.
