{"id":397,"date":"2018-08-10T11:26:15","date_gmt":"2018-08-10T11:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=397"},"modified":"2019-12-10T08:43:56","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T13:43:56","slug":"always-on-his-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2018\/08\/10\/always-on-his-mind\/","title":{"rendered":"Always on His Mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u201cFor I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0Jeremiah 29:11<\/strong><br \/>\nI heard this quote a few week ago, <em>&#8220;There is never a moment\u00a0 God is not thinking about you.&#8221;\u00a0 Erwin McManus<\/em>.\u00a0 It has encouraged me ever since.\u00a0 It comes to my mind often at the oddest times.<br \/>\nLike right now, I&#8217;m writing this blog from 36,000 feet in the air.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think I will ever get used to modern technology.\u00a0 It has become harder and harder to unplug. As an ex-flight attendant, flying isn&#8217;t one of my favorite things to do.\u00a0 I managed in my brief time flying the friendly skies to actually develop a fear of flying.\u00a0 Times like this it is reassuring to know I&#8217;m always on God&#8217;s mind.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thankful He is where ever\u00a0 I go.\u00a0 Always thinking about me.\u00a0 Always available.<br \/>\nTruly though, it&#8217;s a hard concept to grasp.\u00a0 There are so many people in this world.\u00a0 He is always thinking of all of them.\u00a0 He is always working, creating connections, organizing meetings.\u00a0 Moving forward.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m listening to this book, &#8220;The Power of Habits:\u00a0 Why We Do What We Do in Life and in Business&#8221;.\u00a0 Truly fascinating.\u00a0 Most of our lives are lived by habits and we are completely unaware of it.\u00a0 Companies and organizations aren&#8217;t.\u00a0 They have entire teams working non-stop analyzing our every move.\u00a0 Target, for example, sends personalized brochures to individuals strictly based on their buying habits.\u00a0 They can actually tell if someone is pregnant and when their due date is, just off of what they purchase.<br \/>\nGod doesn&#8217;t need a computer program to know our habits.\u00a0 We&#8217;re always on His mind.\u00a0 Last week I heard a great message at Life Community Church.\u00a0 We were visiting our friends who started the church.\u00a0 There was a guest speaker, Thomas Dixon.\u00a0 His message was tiled &#8220;The Life, Death and Resurrection of Thomas Dixon&#8221;.\u00a0 He shared his testimony with us.\u00a0 How he was raised in Chicago, not in the best neighborhood.\u00a0 His 30 year battle with drugs and alcohol.\u00a0 How he came to new life in Jesus.\u00a0 It started at the age of 16 when he turned his back on God.\u00a0 He said he lost the next 12 years of his life to his addiction.\u00a0 One thing he realizes now, is that even though he turned his back on God, God never turned his back on him.<br \/>\nHe gave example after example of how God was there, in the midst of all he was doing.\u00a0 The problem was he couldn&#8217;t see it, or didn&#8217;t want to see it.\u00a0 It reminded me of a 10 year period in my life when I did the same.\u00a0 I turned my back on God.\u00a0 I knew what God wanted me to do, being raised in the church.\u00a0 I was determined to do the exact opposite.\u00a0 I caused a lot of pain to myself, but I can clearly see as I look back, how God was with me the entire time.\u00a0 Always there, always loving me, always trying to get my attention.<br \/>\nHe really was thinking about me the whole time, even though I wasn&#8217;t thinking about Him.\u00a0 It breaks my heart for the time I lost with Him during that period of darkness.\u00a0 God even gave me grace with that thought.\u00a0 He led me to this verse, and it immediately brought me comfort:<br \/>\n<em><strong><span id=\"en-NLT-22313\" class=\"text Joel-2-25\">&#8220;The\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0says, \u201cI will give you back what you lost<\/span><\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Joel-2-25\">to the swarming locusts, &#8221;\u00a0 Joel 2:25<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nHe has and is redeeming those years in my life.\u00a0 I am able to help others by sharing the lessons I learned.\u00a0 I am a living witness as they see the transformational change in my life.\u00a0 Actions do speak louder than words.\u00a0 It truly is a miracle.<br \/>\nOnce again, it reminds me, I am always on His mind.\u00a0 I may not think He&#8217;s listening, but He is.\u00a0 I may not feel His presence but it is there.\u00a0 I may not understand what He is thinking, but it is good.\u00a0 My human heart has a hard time understanding how He is able to think about me that much.\u00a0 The truth is, I don&#8217;t have to understand, I just need to believe.<br \/>\nWhat about you?\u00a0 Is He redeeming the years from your past?\u00a0 Look back over different times in your life.\u00a0 See if you can pinpoint where He was reaching out to you, but you missed it.\u00a0 One guarantee is true, He loves you and He&#8217;s always thinking about you.<br \/>\nAmen to that!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cFor I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0Jeremiah 29:11 I heard this quote a few week ago, &#8220;There is never a moment\u00a0 God is not thinking about you.&#8221;\u00a0 Erwin McManus.\u00a0 It has encouraged me ever&hellip;
