False teachings don\u2019t promote love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is love.\u00a0 Jesus came to earth because of God\u2019s deep affection for us.\u00a0 Belief in Jesus begins an adventure in learning to love.\u00a0 Applying Jesus\u2019s teaching to your life, without a doubt, will make you a better lover.\u00a0 You will learn how to forgive people who hurt you.\u00a0 Truth and grace will become familiar to you. As you begin praying for your enemies, your perspective changes.\u00a0 Mercy becomes something people recognize in you.\u00a0 Each day you follow Jesus, transformation occurs.\u00a0 Slowly, you will fulfill God\u2019s purpose for your life, loving God and loving others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Counterfeit prophet\u2019s message isn\u2019t the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

False prophets want you to worship them.  Ultimately, they want to become God.  As my husband would say, it\u2019s the Eve problem.  Why did Eve eat the apple?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou will not certainly die,\u201d the serpent said to the woman.<\/em> <\/em><\/strong>\u201cFor God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.\u201d (<\/em>Genesis 3:4-5 NIV<\/em><\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eve\u2019s eyes were open to her sin.  She did not become like God.  False prophets, like the serpent in Eve\u2019s story, lead you astray with their cunning words.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beware of smooth talkers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like the serpent fooled Eve, false prophets try to fool us.  Their message is similar to Jesus\u2019s, but it\u2019s not the same.  Imposters master flowery language that doesn\u2019t say much but can easily mislead you.  Anyone who promotes anything other than loving God and loving others is leading you astray.  Don\u2019t listen to a word they say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus left us with one commandment:  Love God, love others (Matthew 22:37-38 NIV<\/a>).  If whoever you\u2019re listening to isn\u2019t promoting love, stop listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t fall for flowery language.  Look for evidence of God\u2019s love.  Learn to recognize false prophets.  If they aren\u2019t following Jesus, you\u2019ll know by their fruit; love isn\u2019t part of their message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord, thank You for teaching us how to love.  Thank You for going first in loving us and providing a way for us to connect with You.  Forgive us for falling for flowery words from false prophets.  Today, give us eyes to see, ears to hear the lies people tell.  Let us light up the world as we love You and others.  All the glory is Yours.  IJNIP.
