{"id":295,"date":"2018-03-07T15:54:45","date_gmt":"2018-03-07T15:54:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=295"},"modified":"2019-12-10T08:44:11","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T13:44:11","slug":"are-you-asking-the-right-question","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2018\/03\/07\/are-you-asking-the-right-question\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Asking the Right Question?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><span id=\"en-NIV-16461\" class=\"text Prov-3-5\">&#8220;Trust in the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0with all your heart\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Prov-3-5\">and lean not on your own understanding;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em><em><strong><span id=\"en-NIV-16462\" class=\"text Prov-3-6\">in all your ways submit to him,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Prov-3-6\">and he will make your paths\u00a0straight.&#8221; Proverbs 3:5-6<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nTrusting God in the midst of heartache can be one of the most challenging steps of faith we take.\u00a0 Not understanding the &#8220;why&#8221; behind something is frustrating.\u00a0 We want answers to our questions, when none are forthcoming, at least in the present moment, it can wreak havoc.<br \/>\nTrust is defined as\u00a0firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.<br \/>\nInstead of asking why, ask how firm is my belief in God?\u00a0 How much do I believe the reliability and truth of His word?\u00a0 Do I believe He has the ability and strength to handle whatever situation you are facing?<br \/>\nThese are questions you can find answers too.\u00a0 Simply look back at what He has already done.\u00a0 Remember what caused you to believe in God in the first place.\u00a0 Recall how the truth of His word changed your life.\u00a0 Ponder the ability and strength He showed during a different situation you thought, at the time was impossible.<br \/>\nWhen you begin to remember what God has already done, it lessens the necessity to know the &#8220;why&#8221; of right now.\u00a0 You can trust, just as He had the last situation, He also has this one.<br \/>\nYou can begin to rely on the truth of His word which says He has a plan and it&#8217;s a good one (Jer. 29:11).\u00a0 You can find your joy in His strength (Neh. 8:10.)\u00a0 You don&#8217;t have to be afraid, He promises He is with you (Isaiah 41:10).\u00a0 You can find safety in the strength of His name (Proverbs 18:10).\u00a0 You can have His peace (John 14:27) as you weather any storm.\u00a0 He is your refuge (Psalm 46:1).\u00a0 Your hope (Isaiah 40:31).<br \/>\nYou can begin to trust.<br \/>\n<strong><em>Scripture References:<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0&#8220;<\/sup>For I know the plans\u00a0I have for you,\u201d declares the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>, \u201cplans to prosper\u00a0you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.&#8221; Jeremiah 29:11<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8220;&#8230;Do not grieve, for the joy\u00a0of the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0is your strength.\u201d Nehemiah 8:10b<\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-18462\" class=\"text Isa-41-10\">&#8220;So do not fear,\u00a0for I am with you;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Isa-41-10\">do not be dismayed, for I am your God.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Isa-41-10\">I will strengthen\u00a0you and help\u00a0you;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Isa-41-10\">I will uphold you\u00a0with my righteous right hand.&#8221; Isaiah 41:10<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-16912\" class=\"text Prov-18-10\">&#8220;The name of the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0is a fortified tower;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Prov-18-10\">the righteous run to it and are safe.&#8221; Proverbs 18:10<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0&#8220;<\/sup>Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.\u00a0I do not give to you as the world gives.
