\u201cWhat causes fights and quarrels among you? Don\u2019t they come from your desires that battle within you?\u201d (James 4:1 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our biggest fights are with ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Internal conflict is a universal struggle. Nothing illuminates the ultimate acceptance of mortality more than COVID. No one likes to think about death, but this virus makes us all think about it. Accepting the fact, when it\u2019s your time, it\u2019s your time is hard. But just because the realization is difficult doesn\u2019t make it any less real. Our battle is in the acceptance of the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A few weeks ago, one of my best friends and I were discussing death.\u00a0 As I shared my struggle with her, she confirmed the truth.\u00a0 \u201cWhen it\u2019s your time, it\u2019s your time.”\u00a0 I told her I know; her next words are what I\u2019ve thought about since.\u00a0 \u201cBut you don\u2019t believe me.\u201d\u00a0 She was right; I didn\u2019t believe her.\u00a0 Why don\u2019t I believe her?\u00a0 At this point, my answer is: \u201cBecause I don\u2019t want to.\u201d\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to accept the truth.\u00a0 Instead, I want to change the answer, but no matter how hard I try, I can\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Accepting truth isn\u2019t admitting defeat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our internal struggles diminish as we learn to accept God\u2019s truth. Lessening our inner battles allows us to find peace. Finding peace isn\u2019t losing the fight; it\u2019s gaining victory in God. As we lean into His word more, we trust His ways. Acknowledging God has a plan for our lives, and it\u2019s better than any we could devise, gives Him control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n People fear COVID because they fear death. Trusting God means understanding; He overcame death. Jesus\u2019s actions on the cross are what gives us eternal life. Eternity is here; we\u2019re already in it. When we die, our physical bodies may no longer breathe, but our Spirit is with God. Our eternity began the moment we accepted Christ into our lives. If God calls us home, we\u2019re just changing addresses. Eventually, we\u2019re all together again. But when it\u2019s your time to move, it\u2019s your time to move:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHelp us to remember that our days are numbered, and help us to interpret our lives correctly. Set your wisdom deeply in our hearts so that we may accept your correction.\u201d (<\/em>Psalm 90:12 TPT<\/em><\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n COVID reminds us of our limitations. Instead of living in fear, embrace today. Remember Paul\u2019s words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.\u201d (<\/em>Philippians 1:21 NIV<\/em><\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our stay on earth is pre-determined by God. While we are here, He has a purpose for us. We are to live life to the fullest (John 10:10 NIV<\/a>). When we achieve our goal, He calls us home. The mortality rate is 100% on earth, eternal life 100% in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stop quarreling internally. Accept God\u2019s truth.
