{"id":2646,"date":"2020-10-27T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-27T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2646"},"modified":"2020-10-15T13:28:04","modified_gmt":"2020-10-15T18:28:04","slug":"who-makes-the-best-mentors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/10\/27\/who-makes-the-best-mentors\/","title":{"rendered":"WHO MAKES THE BEST MENTORS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>4 minute read<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cLikewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.&nbsp; Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.\u201d (Titus 2:3-5 NIV)&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Older women who are reverent make the best mentors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/webstersdictionary1828.com\/Dictionary\/Reverent\">Reverent<\/a> women are submissive and humble, according to Webster\u2019s Dictionary of 1828.&nbsp; Part of the definition reads \u201ca reverent posture in prayer.\u201d&nbsp; When I read those words, a vision of a woman on her knees, silently pouring her heart out to the Lord as she seeks His strength, flashed before my eyes.&nbsp; The solitary figure is communing with her Maker, submitting her life to Him.&nbsp; As the years slip by, the relationship between them continues to grow deeper and deeper.&nbsp; She recognizes, now is a time to put away childish ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two things I often heard from my mother\u2019s mouth. \u201cAct your age.\u201d And, \u201cYou\u2019re old enough to know better.\u201d&nbsp; Gratefully, my mom lived long enough for us to have an adult relationship.&nbsp; However, the older I got, the more I heard those sayings came from her lips.&nbsp; Moms are always moms.
