{"id":2465,"date":"2020-09-01T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2465"},"modified":"2020-08-24T07:02:16","modified_gmt":"2020-08-24T12:02:16","slug":"when-someone-you-love-dies-they-live-on-in-your-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/09\/01\/when-someone-you-love-dies-they-live-on-in-your-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"WHEN SOMEONE YOU LOVE DIES, THEY LIVE ON IN YOUR HEART"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cAnd he also had seven sons and three daughters.\u201d (Job 42:13 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we first met Job, he had seven sons and three daughters (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Job%201-2&amp;version=NIV\">Job 1:2 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He lost his children soon after.&nbsp; For the next 37 chapters we watch as Job clings to God, and his three friends try to find reason for Job\u2019s misery.&nbsp; Not until chapter 38 does God speak.&nbsp; After God sets things straight, he restores Job\u2019s fortune, giving him \u201ctwice as much as he had before\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Job%2042%3A10&amp;version=NIV\">(Job 42:10 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; If God gave Job twice as much as he had before, why didn\u2019t he give him twenty children instead of ten more?&nbsp; Because he never lost the first ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>People live on in us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twelve years ago, one of my dear friends lost her 16 year old son in a car accident.&nbsp; At the funeral, I will never forget his father\u2019s words.&nbsp; Their son\u2019s namesake was his younger brother who died young.&nbsp; He said, in the audience sat three of his brothers, but he had four brothers. &nbsp; When people asked him how many brothers he had, he always said \u201cFour.\u201d&nbsp; Death didn\u2019t break the bond of brotherhood. Then he said, \u201cWhen people ask me how many children I have, I will always answer \u201cTwo.\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Job\u2019s first 10 children died, but he didn\u2019t lose them.&nbsp; No matter where he goes, or what he does, they are always with him.&nbsp; They live in his heart.&nbsp; God gave him twice as much as he had before, he gave Job 10 more children.&nbsp; Now Job had twenty children, not ten.&nbsp; God had doubled his portion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Losing people to death is something we will all experience.&nbsp; At this point in my life, I\u2019ve lost several loved ones I will never see again on this side of heaven.&nbsp; However, they are still a part of my life.&nbsp; The memories I made with them are still with me.&nbsp; My mother\u2019s words still ring in my ears at pivotal times, reminding me of her presence in my life.&nbsp; The hug my nephew gave me the last time I saw him on earth sustains me in those moments of grief that overwhelm me.&nbsp; My college roommate\u2019s sweet voice still wanders through my mind, bringing a smile to my face only she could bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Death is a part of life.&nbsp; Tomorrow is six years since my nephew died.&nbsp; I think of him everyday.&nbsp; I miss him.&nbsp; But I know, we will see each other again.&nbsp; His faith was in Jesus.&nbsp; His address has changed, but he still lives in my heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We lose the physical body, but we don\u2019t lose the person.&nbsp; No one is replaceable.
