“Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”\u00a0 The blind man answered, “Teacher, I want to see.”\u00a0 Mark 10:51 NCV<\/strong><\/em>
\nIt is the end of the first week of January.\u00a0 It was a tough week trying to achieve the goals I set forth for myself just over seven days ago. By the grace of God I did. I laid in bed this morning thinking, “I didn’t write my blog this week.”\u00a0 (One of my goals for 2018, write one a week.)
\nThen I read my devotional this morning.\u00a0 Titled Goal Setting is a Statement of Faith.\u00a0 It went on to explain the reason Jesus asked the blind man what he wanted him to do wasn’t because he didn’t already know.\u00a0 Jesus knew a blind man would want to see again.\u00a0 It was because He wanted Bartimaeus, the blind man, to state his faith.
\nGod’s timing is always perfect. I needed the reminder.\u00a0 I can’t do anything without Him.\u00a0 The reason I wrote my goals in my blog was for accountability.\u00a0 God just let me know, it was also a statement of faith.\u00a0 It is what I want God to do for me this year.
\nAt the end of my devotion today, it challenged me.\u00a0 It reminded me, Jesus asks the same question right now:
\n“What do you want me to do for you?”<\/em>
\nHe asks it ever day, every morning.\u00a0 Have you ever thought about how you would answer that question?\u00a0 I have to be honest, I didn’t have an immediate answer.\u00a0 All of my requests seem so trivial.
\nThen I thought of this verse:
\n“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34<\/strong><\/em>
\nJesus isn’t asking me what I want for tomorrow.\u00a0 Just for today.\u00a0 Today is Sunday.\u00a0 It is a day of rest (Exodus 20:8).\u00a0 I get to go to church and worship.\u00a0 I get to come home and spend the day with family and friends.
\nToday, Jesus, I want you to help me rest.\u00a0 We’ll worry about tomorrow when it gets here!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
