{"id":2376,"date":"2020-08-04T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-04T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2376"},"modified":"2020-08-04T08:10:28","modified_gmt":"2020-08-04T13:10:28","slug":"what-do-you-think-you-are-missing-in-your-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/08\/04\/what-do-you-think-you-are-missing-in-your-life\/","title":{"rendered":"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE MISSING IN YOUR LIFE?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cFor in him you have been enriched in every way\u2014with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge\u2014\u201d (1 Corinthians 1:5 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God has given you everything you need.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I was younger, I thought I needed more.\u00a0 When a friend got a new toy, I wanted a new toy.\u00a0 In sixth grade, all my friends seemed to get glasses.\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t you know it, all of a sudden I couldn\u2019t see.\u00a0 When my Mom took me to the eye doctor, I remember her words.\u00a0 \u201cShe doesn\u2019t have a sight problem, she has a jealousy problem.\u00a0 Everyone in her class is getting glasses.\u201d\u00a0 She wasn\u2019t wrong.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t need glasses, I was sent home with exercises to \u201ccure\u201d my sight issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In today\u2019s world, a common phrase describes what I was feeling: FOMO,&nbsp; Fear Of Missing Out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all have experienced this in one way or another.&nbsp; What we fear we\u2019re missing out on is different, but we\u2019ve all felt this way.&nbsp; Social media has helped feed this fear.&nbsp; We see someone on our Facebook feed at the beach, or the mountains, having a grand time, FOMO occurs.&nbsp; Happy couples enjoying each other&#8217;s company can spark FOMO.&nbsp;  A group photo of friends having fun without you can cause FOMO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Know God, No FOMO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Embracing God\u2019s life fully means enjoying the moment<strong>.&nbsp; <\/strong>When we place our trust in God completely, He guides our paths:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em><em>In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A9&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Proverbs 16:9 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where God guides, He provides.&nbsp; He gives us everything we need to do what He wants us to do.&nbsp; The problem isn\u2019t God\u2019s provision, it\u2019s our vision.&nbsp; What we focus our eyes on gets our attention.&nbsp; If we\u2019re consumed with Facebook and what others are doing, we\u2019ll have FOMO.&nbsp; But if we place our eyes on Jesus, we\u2019ll live in the moment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cTherefore do not be anxious, saying, \u2018What shall we eat?\u2019 or \u2018What shall we drink?\u2019 or \u2018What shall we wear?\u2019&#8230;your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. \u201cTherefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%206:31-34&amp;version=ESV\"><em>Matthew 6:31-34 ESV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Live for today.&nbsp; Enjoy the people God has placed in your lives.&nbsp; Pray for the people in your life.&nbsp; No one knows them like you do.&nbsp; Pray specifically for God to intervene in their lives.&nbsp; Watch what He does when you give Him control.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether we realize it or not, we\u2019ve all tried to run the world.&nbsp; That job is not one we were ever meant to have.&nbsp; God is in control.&nbsp; Let Him take the lead in your life today.
