{"id":2302,"date":"2020-07-13T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2302"},"modified":"2020-06-29T11:39:07","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T16:39:07","slug":"sometimes-the-thing-you-want-most-is-the-worst-thing-for-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/07\/13\/sometimes-the-thing-you-want-most-is-the-worst-thing-for-you\/","title":{"rendered":"SOMETIMES THE THING YOU WANT MOST IS THE WORST THING FOR YOU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cFurthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.\u201d&nbsp; (Romans 1:28 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, God\u2019s judgement is letting us have what we want.&nbsp; Paul, in his letter to the Roman\u2019s describes how God let people do what they wanted to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cTherefore God gave them over to the sinful desires of their hearts\u2026\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+1%3A24-27&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Romans 1:24 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of God\u2019s gifts to us is free will.\u00a0 This topic is highly debatable.\u00a0 Perspectives on free will vary greatly.\u00a0 But we all have the right to choose how we live our lives.\u00a0 God gave us that as a gift.\u00a0 We can choose to spend our lives pursuing a relationship with God, or not.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People choose not to follow God every day.\u00a0 And even those of us who are following God have moments in our day when we choose not too.\u00a0 Our problem: we think we know best, but we really don\u2019t.\u00a0 We make bad choices because we don\u2019t have all the information.\u00a0 Only God knows all the details.\u00a0 Only God knows what\u2019s truly best for you.\u00a0 What we want isn\u2019t always what\u2019s best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>What we want isn\u2019t always what\u2019s best.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I was younger, I didn\u2019t want anyone telling me what to do.&nbsp; I thought I knew what was best for my life.&nbsp; I refused to listen to anyone, including God.&nbsp; As a result, men took advantage of my gullibility.
