{"id":2286,"date":"2020-07-10T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-10T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2286"},"modified":"2020-06-25T12:38:13","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T17:38:13","slug":"when-was-the-last-time-god-told-you-not-to-be-afraid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/07\/10\/when-was-the-last-time-god-told-you-not-to-be-afraid\/","title":{"rendered":"WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME GOD TOLD YOU NOT TO BE AFRAID?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cLast night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, \u2018Do not be afraid, Paul.\u2019\u201d (Acts 27:23-24a NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every day God says, &#8220;Do not be afraid.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul is on his fourth mission trip.&nbsp; This trip leads him to Rome.&nbsp; Paul\u2019s journey is not a planned one.&nbsp; His journey includes a shipwreck, 2 year imprisonment and house arrest.&nbsp; He shares the good news of Jesus everywhere he goes to whoever he is with at the time.&nbsp; God tells him at the beginning of his trip, \u201cDo not be afraid\u201d (vs. 24).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>God\u2019s most repeated command: \u201cDo not be afraid.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most repeated command in the Bible is \u201cDo Not Be Afraid.\u201d &nbsp; The words appear over 70 times in the NIV.&nbsp; Typically, the next thing God does is act:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>&#8220;Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.&#8221; (<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/biblestudytools.com\/exodus\/14-13.html\"><em>Exodus 14:13<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/li><li><em>&#8220;Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.&#8221; (<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/biblestudytools.com\/deuteronomy\/3-22.html\"><em>Deuteronomy 3:22<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/li><li><em>&#8220;Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.&#8221; (<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/biblestudytools.com\/joshua\/10-8.html\"><em>Joshua 10:8<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/li><li><em>&#8220;Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.&#8221; (<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/biblestudytools.com\/luke\/12-32.html\"><em>Luke 12:32<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Any of the above verses will help you overcome your fears.&nbsp; Fear is what stops us from doing God\u2019s will.&nbsp; Right now, the world is facing COVID.&nbsp; Fear is ruling people\u2019s lives.&nbsp; But that is not how God wants us to live.&nbsp; He didn\u2019t give us spirits of timidity.&nbsp; He doesn\u2019t want us to live fearfully.&nbsp; He wants us to live boldly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul lived his life boldly. &nbsp; In today\u2019s scripture he\u2019s addressing a crew of hungry sailors.
