{"id":2228,"date":"2020-06-22T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-22T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2228"},"modified":"2020-06-04T10:09:00","modified_gmt":"2020-06-04T15:09:00","slug":"god-protects-you-from-the-wicked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/06\/22\/god-protects-you-from-the-wicked\/","title":{"rendered":"GOD PROTECTS YOU FROM THE WICKED"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cKeep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.\u201d (Psalm 140:4 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another term for \u201cwicked\u201d is \u201ctoxic.\u201d\u00a0 Wicked people from Biblical times are toxic people in today&#8217;s world.\u00a0 Toxic people drain you of life.\u00a0 They are unsupportive, self-centered, and difficult.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scienceofpeople.com\/toxic-people\/#how-to-deal-with-toxicity\">\u201c7 Types of Toxic People and How to Spot Them,\u201d<\/a> is an excellent article explaining toxic people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all have toxic people in our lives. Some we\u2019ve known a lifetime, others we\u2019ve met through a friend or in the workplace.&nbsp; However they came into our life, God\u2019s answer to toxic people is always the same: love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+13%3A7&amp;version=NIV\"><em>1 Corinthians 13:7 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>God protects us from the wicked with love.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The thing is, we don\u2019t have to love toxic people up close.&nbsp; When you identify someone in your life as toxic, you are the one who has to set healthy boundaries for the relationship.&nbsp; Jesus was a master at this because He knew people\u2019s hearts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><em>But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John%202:24-25&amp;version=NIV\"><em>John 2:24-25 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The above verses come right after Jesus has kicked out the craft fair going on in the Temple.&nbsp; He knows the toxicity in man\u2019s hearts.
