{"id":2186,"date":"2020-06-10T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2186"},"modified":"2020-05-27T09:26:59","modified_gmt":"2020-05-27T14:26:59","slug":"what-temple-are-you-spending-more-time-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/06\/10\/what-temple-are-you-spending-more-time-on\/","title":{"rendered":"WHAT TEMPLE ARE YOU SPENDING MORE TIME ON?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cIt took Solomon thirteen years, however, to complete the construction of his palace.\u201d (1 Kings 7:1 NIV)&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived.&nbsp; He gained his wisdom from God.&nbsp; Because of his wisdom, he had more wealth than anyone else.&nbsp; His tasks; building God\u2019s temple and his own palace.&nbsp; By the time he finished God\u2019s temple, 7 years passed.&nbsp; The work on his own personal temple took 13 years.&nbsp; Solomon spent almost twice the time building his palace.&nbsp; He spent more time on himself than God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because of Jesus, our body is God\u2019s temple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cDo you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+6%3A19&amp;version=NIV\"><em>1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking care of our bodies takes care of God\u2019s temple.&nbsp; We are God\u2019s representative on earth.&nbsp; When we spend time working on ourselves, we\u2019re working on God\u2019s temple.&nbsp; However, we have to check our motives.&nbsp; Are we really going to the gym to tone God\u2019s temple, or are we doing it for ourselves?&nbsp; Am I volunteering all my time at church to make myself look better, or am I truly serving God?&nbsp; Am I walking the walk or just talking the talk?&nbsp; Our heart\u2019s motives determine the temple we\u2019re building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our heart\u2019s motives determine the temple we\u2019re building.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we\u2019re building God\u2019s temple, we\u2019re not exhausted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cTake my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. <\/em><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><em>For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.\u201d&nbsp; (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%2011:29-30&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Matthew 11:29-30 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God\u2019s leading in our lives creates balance.&nbsp; When we seek God before making a commitment, we say yes to what He wants, no to what we want.&nbsp; We don\u2019t overschedule ourselves with \u201cgood\u201d activities.
