{"id":2152,"date":"2020-05-29T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-29T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2152"},"modified":"2020-05-18T08:58:20","modified_gmt":"2020-05-18T13:58:20","slug":"how-to-illuminate-your-path-in-front-of-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/05\/29\/how-to-illuminate-your-path-in-front-of-you\/","title":{"rendered":"HOW TO ILLUMINATE YOUR PATH IN FRONT OF YOU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>\u201cYour word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.\u201d\u00a0 (Psalm 119: 105 NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God\u2019s word lights your path.&nbsp; When we need direction, we can find it from the authors of the Bible.&nbsp; Solomon, who wrote the majority of Proverbs gives us practical wisdom for all aspects of life.&nbsp; During this pandemic, fear of death is the primary emotion guiding people\u2019s actions.&nbsp; However, fear of God is how we gain knowledge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.\u201d&nbsp; (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs+1-7&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Proverbs 1:7 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fear of the Lord is accepting the Bible\u2019s teaching as truth.&nbsp; Within the books pages, there is instruction for all aspects of life. &nbsp; Solomon informs us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWhat has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ecclesiastes%201%3A9&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Ecclesiastes 1:9 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we have fear of God, we no longer need to fear death.&nbsp; When we believe God\u2019s written instruction as truth, then apply it to our lives, He will direct our paths.&nbsp; His word will illuminate our paths.&nbsp; We no longer walk in darkness, but in light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>God\u2019s word lights our path.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solar lights are like Christ followers.&nbsp; Solar lights receive power from the sun, Christ followers receive power from the Son.&nbsp; Only when you spend time in God\u2019s word, with God\u2019s people, in God\u2019s presence does He fill you with His light.&nbsp; Just like solar powered lanterns, we can\u2019t help but shine God\u2019s light when we\u2019ve spent time with Him.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solar lights bring light to the darkness.&nbsp; When the sun sets, the lights turn on.&nbsp; In the same way, when we walk into the world after spending time with God, we light the darkness.&nbsp; God\u2019s presence in our lives will allow us to lead with grace and humility.&nbsp; We\u2019ll love the unlovable because of His light in us.&nbsp; The dark world will have light&nbsp; because of God\u2019s power at work within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But solar lights can\u2019t stay in the darkness.&nbsp; They must have the sun\u2019s rays to re-fuel them.&nbsp; By the time the sun rises in the morning, their energy has been spent.&nbsp; In the same way, if we spend all of our time in the world, we will run out of God\u2019s light in us.&nbsp; We need refueling daily to continue to shine in the darkness.&nbsp; Each morning, when we spend time with God, he fills our batteries and turns the light back on within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solar lights depend on the sun for their light.&nbsp; Christ followers depend on the Son for their light.
