As I have loved you, so you must love one another.&nbsp; By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.\u201d (John 13:34-35 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People will know Jesus in your life by love.&nbsp; How you love others is a reflection of Jesus\u2019s presence in your life.&nbsp; He has shown us how to love people, now we\u2019re to do it.&nbsp; Jesus was present with people.&nbsp; He listened to them (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+24%3A17-20&amp;version=NIV\">Luke 24:17-20 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He had compassion for them (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew+9%3A36&amp;version=NIV\">Matthew 9:36 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He set healthy boundaries, allowing people to make their own choices (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+10%3A21-22&amp;version=NIV\">Mark 10:21-22 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He didn\u2019t enable people in their sin (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+8%3A11&amp;version=NIV\">John 8:11 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He loves deeply (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+3%3A16&amp;version=NIV\">John 3:16 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He spoke truth (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+18%3A38&amp;version=NIV\">John 18:38 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; He did everything with grace and mercy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+6%3A34&amp;version=NIV\">Mark 6:34 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; If you want people to know Jesus, love like He did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If you want people to know Jesus, love like He did.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can\u2019t love people like Jesus if I don\u2019t spend time with Him.&nbsp; I don\u2019t want to love everyone in my humanness.&nbsp; None of us do.&nbsp; People in our lives who hurt us deeply, are hard to love.&nbsp; But Jesus loves them too.&nbsp; We don\u2019t get to pick and choose who we love, Jesus doesn\u2019t give us that option:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><em>Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: \u2018Love your neighbor as yourself.\u2019 There is no commandment greater than these.\u201d&nbsp; (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+12%3A30-31&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Mark 12:30-31 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who is our neighbor?\u00a0 Everyone.\u00a0 The person standing in front of you at the grocery store is our neighbor.\u00a0 The poor driver who cuts you off in traffic is our neighbor.\u00a0 The family member who constantly causes trouble is our neighbor.\u00a0 The ex-boyfriend who cheated is our neighbor.\u00a0 The person who murdered my good friend\u2019s son is our neighbor.\u00a0 How are we to love people who have caused us pain in our lives?\u00a0 We let Jesus show us the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first part of the great commandment is: \u201cLove the Lord your God\u2026\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+12%3A30&amp;version=NIV\">Mark 12:30 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; In order to love others, we have to love God first.&nbsp; We have to seek Him daily, asking Him to fill us with His love.&nbsp; We can\u2019t love others without first receiving love from God. &nbsp; He will show us how to love those who have hurt us deeply.&nbsp; He will help us forgive those who have committed unspeakable acts against us.&nbsp; He will protect us from further harm by helping us set appropriate boundaries.&nbsp; Through Jesus, we can love anyone. &nbsp; He doesn\u2019t intend us to be their Savior, that\u2019s His job.&nbsp; He just expects us to love.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question of the Day:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Who do you need Jesus\u2019 help loving today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Further Reading: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Samuel+4-6&amp;version=NIV\">2 Samuel 4:1-6:23 NIV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+13%3A31-14%3A14&amp;version=NIV\">John 13:31-14:14 NIV<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+119%3A17-32&amp;version=NIV\">Psalm 119:17-32 NIV<\/a>,&nbsp;  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs+15%3A31-32&amp;version=NIV\">Proverbs 15:31-32 NIV<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cA new command I give you: Love one another.
