{"id":2108,"date":"2020-05-14T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=2108"},"modified":"2020-05-02T09:38:58","modified_gmt":"2020-05-02T14:38:58","slug":"who-should-you-judge-first-in-your-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/05\/14\/who-should-you-judge-first-in-your-life\/","title":{"rendered":"WHO SHOULD YOU JUDGE FIRST IN YOUR LIFE?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cWhen they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, \u201cLet any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.\u201d (John 8:7 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The person you judge first is yourself.&nbsp; Today\u2019s verse is from one of my favorite stories in the Bible.&nbsp; A woman, caught in adultery is dragged naked to where Jesus is teaching.&nbsp; Jesus was in the temple courts, surrounded by people.&nbsp; The Pharisees (religious leaders who thought highly of themselves), wanted her stoned for her sin.&nbsp; These self-righteous men think they have Jesus cornered.&nbsp; But they were wrong.&nbsp; Jesus, in His infinite wisdom, bent and wrote in the dirt.&nbsp; Then He rose and said these words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&nbsp;\u201cLet any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone<\/em> <em>at her.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+8%3A7&amp;version=NIV\"><em>John 8:7b NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again, Jesus bent and wrote in the dirt.&nbsp; One by one, the crowd dispersed.&nbsp; Finally, Jesus was left alone with the woman.&nbsp; Lovingly, His eyes filled with warmth, He said to her:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cWoman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? <\/em><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>\u201cNo one, sir,\u201d she said. \u201cThen neither do I condemn you,\u201d<\/em> <em>Jesus declared. \u201cGo now and leave your life of sin.\u201d (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+8%3A10-11&amp;version=NIV\"><em>John 8:10-11 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The person you judge first is yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pointing the finger at another person\u2019s faults is easy.&nbsp; Pointing a finger at our own faults is hard.&nbsp; One way I examine my actions is through Scripture.&nbsp; I align my thoughts with God\u2019s word, and He quickly reminds me, I\u2019m not without sin.&nbsp; Another way I examine my actions is through the trusted relationships I have in my life.&nbsp; My husband and my closest friends are all people who speak truth in love to me.&nbsp; These people help me take the plank out of my own eye:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cWhy do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother\u2019s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? <\/em><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><em>How can you say to your brother, \u2018Let me take the speck out of your eye,\u2019 when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
