of My Favorite Ladies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>&#8220;A woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.&#8221;\u00a0 Proverbs 31:30<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nOne of my daily practices is to read a chapter of Proverbs each day.\u00a0 I read the chapter which correlates to the date.\u00a0 Today is the 31st so I read Proverbs 31.\u00a0 Months that have only 30 days in them make me miss one of my favorite chapters in the entire Bible.<br \/>\nThe Proverbs 31 woman who is described in verses 10-31 has always been who I aspire to be.\u00a0 When I was single, I had these verses framed, hanging beside my bed.\u00a0 I remember lying in bed, I would look over and read them.\u00a0 My prayer was one day I would get to be that kind of wife, that kind of mom:<br \/>\n<span class=\"text Prov-31-10\"><sup class=\"footnote\" style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 0.625em; line-height: 22px; position: relative; vertical-align: top; top: 0px;\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-17295a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-17295a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs%2031:10-31#fen-NIV-17295a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup><em>A wife of noble character\u00a0who can find?<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-10\">She is worth far more than rubies.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17296\" class=\"text Prov-31-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>Her husband\u00a0has full confidence in her<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-11\">and lacks nothing of value.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17297\" class=\"text Prov-31-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>She brings him good, not harm,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-12\">all the days of her life.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17298\" class=\"text Prov-31-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>She selects wool and flax<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-13\">and works with eager hands.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17299\" class=\"text Prov-31-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>She is like the merchant ships,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-14\">bringing her food from afar.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17300\" class=\"text Prov-31-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>She gets up while it is still night;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-15\">she provides food for her family<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-15\">and portions for her female servants.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17301\" class=\"text Prov-31-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>She considers a field and buys it;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-16\">out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17302\" class=\"text Prov-31-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>She sets about her work vigorously;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-17\">her arms are strong for her tasks.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17303\" class=\"text Prov-31-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>She sees that her trading is profitable,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-18\">and her lamp does not go out at night.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17304\" class=\"text Prov-31-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>In her hand she holds the distaff<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-19\">and grasps the spindle with her fingers.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17305\" class=\"text Prov-31-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>She opens her arms to the poor<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-20\">and extends her hands to the needy.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17306\" class=\"text Prov-31-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>When it snows, she has no fear for her household;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-21\">for all of them are clothed in scarlet.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17307\" class=\"text Prov-31-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>She makes coverings for her bed;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-22\">she is clothed in fine linen and purple.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17308\" class=\"text Prov-31-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>Her husband is respected at the city gate,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-23\">where he takes his seat among the elders\u00a0of the land.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17309\" class=\"text Prov-31-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>She makes linen garments and sells them,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-24\">and supplies the merchants with sashes.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17310\" class=\"text Prov-31-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>She is clothed with strength and dignity;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-25\">she can laugh at the days to come.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17311\" class=\"text Prov-31-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>She speaks with wisdom,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-26\">and faithful instruction is on her tongue.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17312\" class=\"text Prov-31-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>She watches over the affairs of her household<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-27\">and does not eat the bread of idleness.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17313\" class=\"text Prov-31-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>Her children arise and call her blessed;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-28\">her husband also, and he praises her:<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17314\" class=\"text Prov-31-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cMany women do noble things,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-29\">but you surpass them all.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17315\" class=\"text Prov-31-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-30\">but a woman who fears the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0is to be praised.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span id=\"en-NIV-17316\" class=\"text Prov-31-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>Honor her for all that her hands have done,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Prov-31-31\">and let her works bring her praise\u00a0at the city gate.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\nI have heard many a messages about the Proverbs 31 woman.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve seen spoofs on how impossible it is to be her.\u00a0 None of us can live up to her standards.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s true, none of us can.\u00a0 \u00a0I don&#8217;t think we are supposed to be exactly like her.\u00a0 I fall short in so many ways, but it is in my shortcomings where I grow.\u00a0 It&#8217;s where I learn.<br \/>\nI won&#8217;t ever be all She is, but God did answer my prayer.\u00a0 I do have a wonderful husband.\u00a0 He gave me the chance to
