{"id":1989,"date":"2020-04-07T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-07T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=1989"},"modified":"2020-04-07T06:59:13","modified_gmt":"2020-04-07T11:59:13","slug":"who-is-your-rock-in-time-of-need","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/04\/07\/who-is-your-rock-in-time-of-need\/","title":{"rendered":"WHO IS YOUR ROCK IN TIME OF NEED?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cThey remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.\u201d (Psalm 78:35 NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God is your rock in time of need.&nbsp; My prayer, as we move through the days of social isolation, is that God will be who you cling to in your time of need:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThe Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;&nbsp; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.\u201d(<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+18%3A2&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Psalm 18:2 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does it look like for God to be your rock?\u00a0 My mind immediately goes to the end of the movie <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Titanic_(1997_film)\">Titanic<\/a>.\u00a0 Filmed in 1997, it is a love story  filmed around the tragedy of the Titanic sinking.\u00a0 A British passenger ship that the builders thought foolishly, even God couldn\u2019t sink.  They were wrong.\u00a0 On April 14th, 1912 the ship struck an iceberg, causing it to sink.  Of the 2,244 people on the boat, over 1500 died.\u00a0 Turns out, the ship was sinkable.  In the movie, after the ship has sunk, the survivors are clinging to whatever they can to stay afloat.\u00a0 In a poignant moment,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OYXZggs0Mhk\">Rose, the heroine, clings to a board<\/a> that Jack, the love of her life has found for her.\u00a0 When I think of clinging to God as my rock in times of duress, that is one image that comes to mind.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life can be overwhelming.&nbsp; I have felt like I was Rose, drowning in the sea of life, the only thing keeping me afloat is God.&nbsp; As the waves of life roll over me, God keeps my head above water.  He will do the same for you.  God is our rock during times of need.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God is our rock during times of need.<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this time of pandemic and economic uncertainty, God is our rock.\u00a0 He is not surprised by the coronavirus.  He is not surprised by the economic uncertainty.\u00a0 He is our rock as we maneuver through these days.  Here are His promises you can cling too:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>He will provide:<\/strong> <em>&nbsp;\u201cAnd my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.\u201d&nbsp; (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+4%3A19&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Phil 4:19 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>He will protect:<\/strong><em> \u201cSo do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
