\nThis verse was one of the first ones I read this morning in my daily Bible reading. \u00a0It is one of those verses we read or hear often. \u00a0It can so easily be glossed over.
\nThis morning it caught my eye and became my prayer. \u00a0We\u2019re on a cruise for my husband\u2019s 50th birthday which is at the end of the week. \u00a0It\u2019s the first vacation we\u2019ve taken this year.
\nMore than a vacation, I needed a praycation!
\nWhat is a praycation? \u00a0It is a word I made up to describe time with God away from the normal hustle and bustle of life. \u00a0Time to re-evaluate where you\u2019ve been and where you are headed. \u00a0Time to renew your mind so you can test and approve what God\u2019s will is for your life…His good, pleasing and perfect will.
\nI\u2019m finding the hardest part of this praycation is shutting down. \u00a0It\u2019s difficult for me to not have the \u201cnext thing\u201d to get too. \u00a0I\u2019m finding being on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic is really what it takes to shut me down. \u00a0There is no where to go. \u00a0There is nothing to do. \u00a0There is only time to pass.
\nI think the first step in renewing my mind is shutting it down. \u00a0As I gaze out at the big, beautiful ocean, I\u2019m starting to feel the reboot start. \u00a0It makes me aware how our lives, our problems, our worries are just a drop in the ocean. \u00a0It\u2019s helping me place myself back into the hands of my Maker.
\nThat\u2019s what I said to my husband last night as we left port, \u201cWe\u2019re in God\u2019s hands now.\u201d \u00a0The moment after the words left my lips I realized, we always are. \u00a0He is with us always. \u00a0We\u2019re not alone. \u00a0It\u2019s us who forget, not Him.
