{"id":1900,"date":"2020-03-09T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-09T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shop.honestreflections.net\/?p=1900"},"modified":"2020-02-27T08:44:49","modified_gmt":"2020-02-27T13:44:49","slug":"what-bridge-is-the-most-important","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2020\/03\/09\/what-bridge-is-the-most-important\/","title":{"rendered":"WHAT BRIDGE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cThey went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, \u201cSit here while I pray.\u201d Mark 14:32 NIV<\/em><\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus is the most important bridge.&nbsp; Can you imagine, being with Jesus, and He asks you to \u201cSit here while I pray?\u201d&nbsp; In essence, that is exactly what Jesus is asking us to do every day.  Jesus is the bridge between us and God.&nbsp; He is what connects us to our Creator.  Because Jesus is both man and God, we can relate to Him in a way we can\u2019t relate to God alone.&nbsp; The most important bridge is Jesus.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Old Testament readings that are part of the \u201cFurther Reading\u201d section of the daily devotional have been talking about Moses.&nbsp; He led the Israelites out of slavery, then wandered in the dessert with them for 40 years.  During that time period, Moses met with God.&nbsp; When Moses met with God directly, his face would radiate so brightly the people couldn\u2019t look at him (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Exodus+34%3A29-35&amp;version=NIV\">Exodus 34:29-35 NIV<\/a>).&nbsp; God\u2019s presence overwhelms us, our minds can\u2019t comprehend His splendor.&nbsp; The bridge Jesus creates connects us to God\u2019s splendor.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>The bridge Jesus creates connects us to God\u2019s splendor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bridge Jesus builds for us is done by prayer.&nbsp; He intercedes on our behalf with the Father.  When He asks us to sit and wait, it\u2019s because He\u2019s praying:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWho then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died\u2014more than that, who was raised to life\u2014is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.\u201d (Romans 8:34 NIV).<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interceding is praying. Prayer is simply talking to God.&nbsp; Jesus is sitting beside God in heaven talking about you.  He\u2019s telling Him all of the things you\u2019ve whispered in His ear.&nbsp; He knows the areas of your heart that are broken, He wants to heal them:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&nbsp;\u201cHe heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.\u201d&nbsp; (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+147%3A3&amp;version=NIV\"><em>Psalm 147:3 NIV<\/em><\/a><em>).<\/em><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God\u2019s splendor is revealed to us the more we rely on Jesus.\u00a0 As we pursue a relationship with Jesus, we begin to follow His example.\u00a0 We start to take our eyes off of the desires of this world and place them on the desires of God.\u00a0 We begin to learn the joy that comes from true forgiveness (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Colossians+3%3A13&amp;version=NIV\">Colossians 3:13 NIV<\/a>).\u00a0 We begin to understand God\u2019s peace that surpasses all understanding (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ephesians+4%3A7&amp;version=NIV\">Ephesians 4:7 NIV<\/a>).\u00a0 We stand firm in the face of adversity because we know who is fighting for us (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8%3A31&amp;version=NIV\">Romans 8:31 NIV<\/a>).\u00a0 And so much more: unconditional love, miraculous events, life changing revelations.
