Moses doesn\u2019t think he was equipped to do the job God was calling him to do.\u00a0 Moses is self-aware. He\u2019s aware that he\u2019s a hypocrite who killed two men (Exodus 2:11-15 NIV<\/a>). Moses is thinking, \u201cNo one in their right mind would follow me.\u201d\u00a0 But yet, the moment in time we find him in is when God asks him to lead His people out of Egypt where they are slaves. Moses is protesting. He\u2019s coming up with reasons why God should get someone else to do the job.\u00a0 On top of his list of imperfections, he\u2019s had some type of speech impediment which made talking difficult (Exodus 4:10 NIV).\u00a0 If I was Moses, I wouldn\u2019t feel equipped for the job either.\u00a0 But God has a response for each of his protests. Finally, Moses cannot protest anymore.\u00a0 Someone has to do the job, it might as well be you.

I\u2019m starting a new semester this week for my master’s.\u00a0 I\u2019m taking three classes which means 6 major projects and a ton of work in between.\u00a0 I do not feel equipped to do any of this. Yet I feel confident God is calling me to the task.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been protesting for days. Asking Him if I can really do this? Should I drop a class? I\u2019m afraid of failing, and I may fail.\u00a0 Only time will tell, I\u2019ll never know if I don\u2019t try. Someone has to take the class, it might as well be me.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t have statistical data on this, but I think everyone feels they aren\u2019t equipped in some way.\u00a0 Mom\u2019s don\u2019t feel equipped to be a good Mom, Dad\u2019s don\u2019t feel equipped to be Dad\u2019s. Teachers don\u2019t feel equipped to teach, doctors don\u2019t feel equipped to heal.\u00a0 Writers don\u2019t feel equipped to write. But they do it anyway. They take the first step, then the next one, and the next one. Eventually, they look back and realize, \u201cI\u2019m actually doing it.\u00a0 I\u2019m doing what I thought I couldn\u2019t do.\u201d Don\u2019t focus on what you can\u2019t do, focus on what you can do and start there. One day at a time, until eventually, you\u2019ll realize you’re doing what you didn\u2019t think you could do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
