Right after the Israelites worshipped the golden calf, God addressed their rebellion. Moses interceded on behalf of the people, telling the Lord that if His presence didn\u2019t go with the Israelites, they couldn\u2019t move forward. And God responds, He will go with His people and give them rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a world full of stuff, nothing matters more than the Lord\u2019s presence. Many people seek God\u2019s provision, guidance, or protection, but Moses sought God Himself. The Creator\u2019s presence remains His greatest blessing. In our darkest hour, His light leads us to safety. In Him, we can take refuge and rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also learn the power of a faithful mediator standing in the gap for others. Moses approached God boldly on behalf of the people, and the Lord listened. A foreshadowing of Jesus, who continually intercedes for believers before the Father. At this very moment, Jesus prays for you. Our limitless Savior can pray for everyone at once, even if we don\u2019t understand how.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And because God\u2019s presence goes with us, we can find rest. The Hebrew idea of rest means peace amid uncertainty and relief from burdens as we place them in God\u2019s care. The Israelites could move forward with confidence because they had divine guidance. Moses and the people still had a wilderness to cross and challenges to face, but the Lord\u2019s presence would provide rest amid those difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as He does for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life\u2019s journey comes with mountains and valleys. Nothing ever truly goes linear. For example, when you go on a trip, things might start well, but then you get a flat tire. Once you get back on the road, things seem good again, but then road construction slows you down. After finally getting through that dilemma, another one awaits. But when the Lord leads the way, the mountains and valleys take on new meaning as you experience His rest despite your circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus travels with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout scripture, God desired a relationship, not merely obedience. He walked with Adam and Eve. He traveled with Israel in the wilderness. He came to earth in Jesus Christ. And He indwells believers through the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is with you, whether you feel Him or not. He knows when you wake and when you sleep. He knows your needs before you speak them. The Lord loves you more than you can comprehend, and He has good plans for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rest in His presence today. Give the Lord the reins, let Him lead the way. Live in His divine peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
