My mom had an enduring faith. Over her lifetime, she faced many trials but never wavered from the Lord. She set an example for me to follow. Because of her, I learned what faithfulness looked like. Psalm 121:1-2, her favorite verses, says it all:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I lift up my eyes to the mountains\u2014where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

God has unwavering and long-lasting faithfulness; one my mother knew well. Remembering the Lord\u2019s character and His essence reminds us that no other god compares to the Lord. All other beliefs and influences fall apart. If you look at the \u201cmovements\u201d that started and ended in the last five years in America, you will see the truth of that statement. Only our Savior deserves praise for His trustworthiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lord doesn\u2019t forget, change His mind, or abandon His promises. Faithfulness defines Him. Reading through the Old Testament shows how God repeatedly saved the Israelites from themselves. He never stopped loving them, always showing up for them in their time of need. And He does the same for us. Though we may fall, God picks us up, puts us back on our feet, and helps us persevere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rooted in His covenant, God lives up to His promise. Anchored in His character, the Lord doesn\u2019t base his love on emotion or convenience. And His faithfulness has no expiration dates, available to a thousand generations. My mom knew it, and now, so do I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t earn the Lord\u2019s love, but like my mother, obedience flows from our relationship with Him. My mom reflected her love for God in the way she lived, and now I try to do the same. Some days, I have more success than others, but every day, because of His unending mercy, I get to try again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look to the hills for your help, and discover the faithfulness of the Savior, today and always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
