<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David writes during a period of trouble. Earlier in the psalm, he speaks of enemies, fear, and uncertainty. Yet God\u2019s warrior remains confident despite his circumstances. Caught between fear and faith, David makes a bold declaration: I will see the goodness of the Lord.<\/em> The king knows he will one day experience the fullness of heaven, but David also trusts that he will see God\u2019s goodness here and now\u2014in this life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s goodness breaks into our present reality; He doesn\u2019t reserve it only for eternity. The Lord may not move in the ways we expect, but He never stops working on our behalf. His blessings often come in unexpected and unimaginable ways. Holding onto faith with confidence means choosing to believe, especially in seasons that test us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God never calls us to wait passively. Waiting well means active trust\u2014remaining anchored when answers don\u2019t come quickly. Choosing to trust God, even when we cannot see His plan, allows us to hold on with confidence. We continue to believe, even in the silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBe strong and take heart<\/em>\u201d reminds us that waiting can feel discouraging. During my own season of singleness, when the Lord seemed silent and nothing appeared to change, I often wrestled with discouragement and questions. Faithful friends came alongside me, praying and encouraging me to keep going. Through it all, I held tightly to the Savior\u2014sometimes by the thinnest thread\u2014but my faith did not break. In time, obedience brought clarity. Looking back, I can now see how God worked, though I couldn\u2019t recognize it at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David repeats the call: wait for the Lord.<\/em> He invites us to persevere, especially when giving up feels easier. As a man after God\u2019s own heart, David understood that the Lord does His deepest work in the waiting. Just as He did in my own life, the Lord uses these seasons to grow and prepare us for what lies ahead. What we can see in hindsight, we often cannot see in the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just because you cannot yet see the full picture, it doesn\u2019t mean God\u2019s goodness won\u2019t come. He never wastes a waiting season; the Lord uses it to shape us, strengthen us, and prepare us for the goodness that will come. Strength in waiting comes from the Savior, who deepens our faith as we trust in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence says, I\u2019m still here, still trusting.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And hope learns to breathe when we wait on the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
