Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.&#8221; 1 Peter 5:6-7<\/i><\/b><br \/>\nWhat a beautiful picture, humbling yourself so that God can lift you up.<br \/>\nI was listening to a message this week from one of my favorite pastors, Vince Antonucci. \u00a0He pastors Verve church which sits in the heart of Las Vegas. \u00a0He shared how Quakers have a tradition. \u00a0When they go before the Lord in quiet time they turn their hands with palms facing down. \u00a0This is their way of emptying themselves of whatever is distracting them from their relationship with God. \u00a0Then, once they have emptied themselves, they turn their hands palms facing up. \u00a0This is when God fills them up with His Spirit now that they have emptied themselves of theirs.<br \/>\nIsn&#8217;t that a beautiful way to come before the Lord?<br \/>\nI just stopped and did that. \u00a0Right now, in the midst of writing this blog. \u00a0It was amazing.<br \/>\nAs I turned my hands over I thought of all the things I needed to let go of today. \u00a0There was so much. \u00a0As I started listing things in my mind, more kept coming. \u00a0It felt good to visualize them pouring out of my down turned palms.<br \/>\nThen I rushed it, and I turned my hands back over. \u00a0I felt this immediate prompting from the Lord:<br \/>\n&#8220;No, there&#8217;s more.&#8221;<br \/>\nI wasn&#8217;t finished letting go. \u00a0I could feel it in my Spirit. \u00a0I immediately turned my hands back over. \u00a0There was more. \u00a0The Lord was right. \u00a0I had bitterness hiding in the crevices, there was jealousy that I hadn&#8217;t acknowledged. \u00a0I felt unforgiveness begin to flow out of my hands. \u00a0All things I needed to let go of today. \u00a0Now.<br \/>\nFinally, when I felt the last drop fall from my palms. \u00a0I turned my hands back over. \u00a0I let the Lord begin to fill me back up.<br \/>\nI prayed for His light to pour into me. \u00a0I prayed for His love to \u00a0fill me. \u00a0I prayed that nothing be hidden from Him. \u00a0I gave Him access to my entire heart.<br \/>\nIt was amazing! \u00a0It was energizing. \u00a0I feel lighter than I&#8217;ve felt in days. \u00a0I feel able to take on the rest of my day. \u00a0I feel renewed. \u00a0 I feel refreshed. \u00a0I feel loved. \u00a0I feel close to God.<br \/>\nI encourage you. \u00a0Try it. \u00a0Find a quiet place to sit and do as the Quakers do. \u00a0Turn your palms over and empty yourself. Cast all your cares on the Lord. When you&#8217;re ready, not a second too soon, turn them over and ask Him to fill you back up.<br \/>\nPrepare to be amazed!<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Humble yourselves, therefore, under God\u2019s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
