{"id":12556,"date":"2025-05-29T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/?p=12556"},"modified":"2025-05-15T05:29:24","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T10:29:24","slug":"incline-my-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2025\/05\/29\/incline-my-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"Incline My Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One-minute read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Green-And-White-Natural-Hello-May-Greeting-Facebook-Post.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Green-And-White-Natural-Hello-May-Greeting-Facebook-Post.jpg 940w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Green-And-White-Natural-Hello-May-Greeting-Facebook-Post-300x251.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Green-And-White-Natural-Hello-May-Greeting-Facebook-Post-768x644.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reading the story of David and Goliath, the young shepherd boy had a heart inclined towards the Lord.&nbsp; When David learned of the Philistine\u2019s taunts, he felt righteous anger that anyone would deny his God.&nbsp; Defined as an offense towards the Creator, righteous anger motivates us to action, just as it did the future king of Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Picking up five smooth stones, wearing only his shepherd\u2019s attire, David marched onto the battlefield, facing the giant.&nbsp; With one whip of his slingshot, David felled the enemy, claiming victory for his nation.&nbsp; In the notes of my Bible, I wrote, \u201cThe Philistines represent sin to me,\u201d because as I read the Old Testament, the battle between the two nations never ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saul, Jonathan, David, Samson, and other Israelite armies fought the giants.&nbsp; Just as we battle sin, and will continue the fight until the Lord calls us home.&nbsp; But when we have our hearts tuned into the Savior, we will perform His statutes, and like David, we can say, \u201cThis day the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;will deliver you into my hand\u201d (1 Samuel 17:46).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tell the giants in your life about the God you serve.&nbsp; Incline your heart to the Lord, and let Him lead you to victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Prayer:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Lord,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Thank You for giving us victory over our sins. Please help us identify the giants in our lives and, like David, face them with You.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">IJNIP.
