Delighting in God&#8217;s testimonies keeps us safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meditate translates as \u201cSiah\u201d in Hebrew, which means \u201cmuse on, consider, think on.\u201d Our minds can get overrun with unwanted thoughts. We have the power to control our thinking by meditating on scripture and relieving the worldly pressures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a recent conference, during worship, anxious thoughts started to invade my mind. As I tried to center on the Lord, offering Him praise, the niggling images of possible events kept plowing their way into my brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLord, take away these thoughts. Don\u2019t let them take root in my mind.\u201d I began praying silently for the Lord\u2019s help. As the chorus of \u201cGood Good Father,\u201d by Chris Tomlin, began to unfold, I refocused my mind and let God rule my thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>\u201cYou&#8217;re a good, good Father<br>It&#8217;s who You are, it&#8217;s who You are, it&#8217;s who You are<br>And I&#8217;m loved by You<br>It&#8217;s who I am, it&#8217;s who I am, it&#8217;s who I am.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When unwanted thoughts try to distract you, focus on God\u2019s word. Find a scripture and meditate on it, allowing the Lord\u2019s promises to fill your mind and bring peace to your heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Prayer:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Lord,<br>Thank You, Lord, for giving us Your Word, which contains promises we can count on today and always. As we face the day&#8217;s challenges, bring scripture to mind that will refocus our thoughts, keeping them from straying from You.<br>IJNIP.
