\nLove Week!
\nLove Week is something my church started doing seven years ago. \u00a0In fact, my husband and I’s first church service was the introduction of the very first Love Week.
\nWhat is Love Week?
\nLove Week is when members of our church go out into the community and serve. \u00a0They become the hands and feet of Jesus as they serve meals, paint houses, clean out drains. \u00a0The list is endless. \u00a0My husband and I have worked at the food pantry, cleaned animal crates, given blood, cleaned nature trails.
\nI loved what we did this year. \u00a0We cleaned out drains along the Noland Trail. \u00a0It was awesome. \u00a0By the time we were finished we were \u00a0covered in dirt, drenched in sweat and very hungry. \u00a0Our knees hurt, our backs felt it, but we felt great.
\nPeople thanked us as they ran or walked by us. \u00a0They were genuinely touched that we were doing such a laborious job.
\nOf course, I was in my glory, I got to play in dirt.
\nLove Week is literally one of my favorite weeks of the year. \u00a0I love seeing Jesus in action. \u00a0I love how our church dons the Love Week T-shirt and heads out into the community.
\nNot to judge. \u00a0Not to preach. \u00a0Only to help the community we live in be better. \u00a0Be stronger. \u00a0Be beautiful.
