{"id":10065,"date":"2024-04-02T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/?p=10065"},"modified":"2024-04-02T04:43:04","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T09:43:04","slug":"divine-forgiveness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/index.php\/2024\/04\/02\/divine-forgiveness\/","title":{"rendered":"Divine Forgiveness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One-minute read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Food-and-Spices-Facebook-Post-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Food-and-Spices-Facebook-Post-1.png 940w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Food-and-Spices-Facebook-Post-1-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.honestreflections.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Food-and-Spices-Facebook-Post-1-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Divine forgiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God freely forgives, regardless of the sin.\u00a0 Understanding the Lord\u2019s grace challenges me.\u00a0 From a human perspective, we often rank people\u2019s misdeeds.\u00a0 Murdering someone seems unforgivable, but telling a white lie doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 Cheating on one\u2019s spouse versus cheating on taxes or stealing millions of dollars versus stealing a piece of candy doesn\u2019t seem like they should receive the same grace, yet they do when people approach the Lord with a repentant heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The heart posture determines the grace we receive.&nbsp; The thieves on the cross beside Jesus show the difference.&nbsp; Gesmas ridiculed Christ, not sorry for his actions that nailed him to the wood.&nbsp; But Dismas truly repented, asking for mercy.<a href=\"#_edn1\" id=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cJesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!\u201d&nbsp;And He said to him,&nbsp;\u201cTruly I say to you, today you will be with Me in&nbsp;Paradise.\u201d Luke 23:42-43 <\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How we approach the Lord determines the grace we receive.&nbsp; Mocking God got Gesmas nowhere.&nbsp; But when Dismas humbly asked Jesus for mercy, he received it, entering paradise with the King.&nbsp; God doesn\u2019t tell us to judge; He commands us to love.&nbsp; We can\u2019t know a person\u2019s heart; only the Lord sees what we can\u2019t.&nbsp; Actions speak louder than words when God transforms a person\u2019s life with His grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Prayer:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord, thank You for giving us the grace we don\u2019t deserve.&nbsp; Help us humble ourselves before You, coming to Your throne with repentant hearts.&nbsp; As we enter into Your presence, let us accept the mercy You offer, allowing it to transform our lives and make us new.&nbsp; IJNIP.
